Both of the difficult characters in the Amplified DLC
Overall an amazing DLC just because of how many cool items it adds and the new floor which is one of the best in the game, if not the best, though I will say character wise its very disappointing, Nocturna is the only character from the DLC which is both fairly fun and fairly unique
Tempo, in my opinion fundamentally makes the game boring, you can't go to shops, you can't go secret shops, your loadout almost never changes unless you by chance run into a new item, which is the only way to make this character not absurdly insane. Running into a good weapon by chance, it just isn't fun and neither is trying to figure out what the fuck you're meant to do when there are 5 enemies coming straight for you
Mary is terrible too, maybe even worse than Tempo, in my opinion she's easier but she had me dying at the very end way more, I died I think 3 times just to the final zone, which I consider trivially easy compared to where it is in the game. I think this is because when you're so deep into All Zones Mode, you "lock in" and focus hard because of the feeling of "this is the one chance I get", and I think this works against the character. You'll typically change your strats to dealing with enemies depending on the character but there are two characters so far in the game which fundamentally change how you move to avoid and attack enemies, and I think both of them are bad and encourage you to play in a way that isn't fun, Dorian and Mary, both of which really benefit from standing still and letting enemies come to you, which just isn't fun. Idr how much I did it on the winning run I had, I don't think I did it much because I had a lot of damage but it's besides the point, you still deal with enemies differently when playing as Mary by virtue of having to worry about a sheep that is the most fragile useless piece of shit in the whole game, and that is very hard to remeber when you're in zone 5 and you have been conditioned for hours to deal with enemies in a certain way, most of the time, narrowly dodging them to attack them in the following beat, doing any of those movements by mistake when playing as Mary is as good of an instant game over as you can get. And this isn't even getting to the issue of how many cool weapons you basically just automatically ignore because there are a lot of enemies that become unreasonable or even impossible to deal with when you have a certain weapon. And also not even getting to when the main gimmick of the character itself makes certain enemies absolutely terrible, SPECIALLY red dragons, I played this character for maybe like 5 hours and I only killed a single red dragon on a disadventageous position. I think red dragons are flawed enemies to begin with since they're trivial to deal with vertically but insanely deadly to deal with horizontally, which is really weird but I think I've vented about Mary enough, the point is, it's the worst character in the game and makes me very cautious about even attempting the Very Polyamorous achievement, I really doubt I'll do it now, specially with Tempo in it too.
Anyway next necrodancer video is hopefully the Coda Trio AZM, so look out for that ig when I beat Aria
