I just trained 120ish dwarves into legendary marksdwarves, and set defense orders on the rooftops/walls to create a sort of "iron dome" setup, works decently well tbh. My biggest issue from the open space was rain ruining their mood, mist generators helped tho

When I first started playing (2012), an early otherwise-successful fort got attacked by a Roc. Since then, I've always had everything everywhere covered by roof. I suppose your defense against flying things is... 352 dwarves? Yeah, should be fine, I just need to get over my fears.

tbh I still get a solid 25fps with this fort, i only use stonesense to take screenshots now cause it will kill my game to 2fps tho lul

@Hazuki-chan yes theres a mod for making stuff 3D and entirely killing your fps more than DF already does. But it is a great mod of yu wanna see things more like they are. These mods are nearly as old as DF itself. nearly.

No worries. It's not just for screenshots you can see the game live in 3d, if you press "f" when you open stonesense then it will follow the camera around, so if you move in the main dwarf fortress window the 3d view will follow. You can see the dwarves moving around and everything, watching combat is super cool in 3d.

Thanks, and u can actually play 3d ? Or is it only to switch view for screenshot? I mean 3d dwarves are walking around?
