EXIS Ship & Vehicle Classification Guide
By bidahochi
The Exosolar Industrial System, known as EIS or EXIS, was formed in [year] from several financially struggling smaller companies to create a unified vehicle & starcraft production, mining, processing, & transport conglomerate company. Due to many conflicting nomenclature of classifications from the original companies, a new classification system was devised, with most older pre - EXIS craft being reclassed (& reschemed/repainted) to the new standard.

(This guide is a heavy WIP, just like my older one lolololo)

How to understand craft classifications
All current EXIS craft, in all domains and functions (civilian, industrial, defense, ground, atmosphere, & stellar) follow these classification rules.

Capital Letters
Having a capital letter tag (or more often a set of capital letter tags), implies the crafts most basic of functions/designations. For example, T for Transport, O for Overland, ect.

Lowercase Letters
Lowercase letter tags are used for a variety of functions, but most commonly are used to describe variants of a single craft. For example, an A version of a rover vs a B version, which share similar design but have something different between them.

Numbers
Numbers on the end of craft tags are used to separate different craft that end up sharing the same classification, yet are completely different designs. For Example, the TOX-a1 vs the TOX-a2, would imply that these are unrelated to each other vehicles except for the fact they share similar functions.
C - Cargo
The Cargo tag is for craft which have a primary or secondary role of transporting, storing, or otherwise dealing with cargo. Cargo can be industrial, militarist, or other, except for passengers or people.
O - Overland
The Overland tag is for craft that primarily travel on the surface of terrestrial bodies, such as moons, planets, asteroids, ect.
P - Passenger
The Passenger tag is for craft which have a primary or secondary role of transporting, storing, or otherwise dealing with passengers and people.
T - Transport
The Transport tag is for craft which have a primary or secondary role of transporting either cargo or passenger. Early EXIS craft often didn't have a tag explaining what they are transporting.
X - Experimental
The Experimental tag is for prototypes, pre-production models, and other "early access" craft that are officially marketed and produced, before the crafts final production model is established. Many classed craft often retain their X tag, even if they are the final production model.
