[C.O.F] Meteor Class - Escort Picket [Export] MK 1

The Meteor Class Escort Picket is the smallest warship produced and exported from COF shipyards and manufactures during the Hive Dominion War relief and aid programs for decimated and weakened allies and offer more options in the export market. However unlike its much larger Krikan and Ká-tarn siblings, the Meteor was far less popular and has seen its production cycle shrunk down due to the lower demand.

This is down to several core factors in the meteors design compared to its siblings and other offers on the export market. The primary issues that plague the meteor can be primary traced to her small size. Its to small to fit an enclosed jump drive which means it cannot provide escort to larger ship. Its to lightly armed and armoured because of its size which mean its under gunned against the growing pirate fleet. And it lacks the fuel and supply storage to go on overly long missions requiring frequent resupply.

Due to these issues the Meteor has had much lower adoption rate compared to he sister even after an overhaul to her armaments. While its unlikely the meteor will ever see as much success as her siblings, she has found a Niche in private security, private military contractors, station defence & monitoring and coast guard patrol sectors. Along with this the meteor would often be given to allies with large orders of Krikan's and Ká-tarn's to help fill out orders and as cheep training ships.

While her lack of jump dive was is an issue, some allies have used latching methods to bring them along on mission, however this does lead to a lot of risks on both ships in the process.
