Germany Armour Guide
By bosch
Armour in MoW II competitive mode is very different when compared to other titles in the genre. They have health and stat cards that you would normally see on a game like world of tanks. For this I think the game has received undue criticism and prompted me to make a easy to understand guide for armour starting with Germany. This will not be a in depth look into game mechanics but rather a short guide to what I consider to be the best and worst German armoured vehicles; to potential help some new players with starting out in their deck building.
.
Some armour will get their own spiel and have more information whilst others will be talk over rather briefly.

Best German Tanks

Starting off with the best in the business

True to its reputation the Tiger H1 lives up to its name in MoW II. Coming in at 15 command points and a battle rank of 105 it is a whole tier lower than its Soviet IS-1 counterpart and completely out matches its same tier KV-85. Its biggest feature being the long 88mm KwK 36 with 165mm of penetration. It is easily the most cost effective and powerful heavy breakthrough tanks in the game. On the USA side of it, the only contender is the M26 Pershing however is a whole tier higher than the H1. The fact that the H1 goes toe to toe with so many tanks much higher a cost and level shows its power and is easily deserving of the first S Tier slot.

The Panther G has a lot going for it. Being a heavy tank in disguise it sports good frontal and turret armour with good mobility on par with both versions of the T-34-85M(They are the same tank). It is a bit overshadowed by the ridiculous M4A3E2 (76) with all around better stats with the trade off of the mobility of a heavy tank which in a way defeats its purpose of a medium. The Panther G shines the best (Like all tanks) when supported with good infantry in a push. Its gun is more than enough to dispatch most mediums and even some heavy tanks. It is however best advised to not send this against tanks that can over match its armour such as the 76 Sherman. If needed however, its a good idea to understand the weak points of tanks with a better gun than you such as the turret of the Sherman's which will in most cases but disabled after one direct shot to it.

The only collectors tank to be included in the S tier lineup, the Pz VI Ausf (P) is one of the best super-heavy tanks in the game. Costing less than all of its counterparts whilst also being on par or or outright better than its rivals like the IS-3 or T26E4. It sports good survivability stats and some of the best penetration at its tier at a massive 279mm of effective pen. Whilst lagging in some departments such as overall armour when compared to the IS-3 turret it more than makes up for it with its cost to performance ratio. Players against this will be hard pressed to not drop most things and focus it which is why it does not take the top slot as this will be a massive magnet for CAS and arty which it will struggle against. Its best played as a counter to the above mentioned and as a stop gap to a enemy push. Its poor vision and mobility leave a lot to be desired in a attack, as with most heavy tanks in this range. It is advised to pair this with some good AA and use it as a back-row sniper or to dislodge a entrenched tank at range.

Not much else to say with this tank other than its a lvl higher than the H1 with marginally better mobility and top armour. Its an ok tank as its the same BR and CP cost. If these resource stats ever got worse it would props be a D tier and you would just pick the H1. All other tiger stats remain applicable.

Our last S Teir tank the StuH 42. An unlikely contender for the last place however earns it. Compared it its USA rival the M7 its not even close. The M7's open top makes it vulnerable to air burst arty and tank fire. Additionally worse states overall. Its other close contende the SU-122 with its huge 122mm gun does give it a run for its money, however its armour leaves a lot to be desired when compared to the StuH, sporting the same frontal armour as the panther. For a lvl 4 tank at 8 command points its card to pass this tank up. Its best played as a support with another medium and infantry. It will struggle against other tanks but if used correctly is easily one of the best in slot for a assault tank.
