From what I understand, datacoring is never required, there are always alternatives - so I'd doubt he does it on purpose.... The question is whether he can fix it, based on the info provided by you?
It would be interesting for me and others if you could explain what datacoring these values can mean in this concrete case. I understand datacoring means something like "constantly overwriting smth that doesn't need overwriting" which can hamper compatibility with other mods severely....

and then maybe you can just just rename it to modded as well
