You'll need quite a few pieces of equipment to create some traps. You'll need...
•Wrenches (2 Gold each)
•Wire (5 Silve a piece)
•Wire Cutters (2 Gold)
•Switches (20 Silver Each)
•Levers (30 Silver Each)
•Pressure Plates (50 Silver Each)
•Actuators (10 Silver Each)
•Pressure Plates

Plates React Differently Depending On Their Colour
Gray=Only triggered by players
Brown=Only triggered by players
Blue=Only triggered by players
Lihzahrd=Only triggered by players
Red=Triggered by players,NPCs and enemies
Green=Triggered by players,NPCs and enemies
Yellow=Triggered b NPCs and enemies


All equipment is bought from the Mechanic who is found tied up in a random place deep in the dungeon. The Dungeon spawns on the end of the world it can be either side.

This isn't a trap but it's one of the best ways to keep monsters at bay
Simply but some blocks infront of your doors
Then put actuators on the blocks
Wire up to a switch
And done! You now have a lockdown system

This trap works incredibly well with the lock down,
firstly dig down infront of your home to make a pit then either fill with a drop of lava (make sure items don't get burned) or alternatively you can use traps hooked up to a yellow pressure plate (see equipment for what it does). After you have dug the pit and either put lava or pressure plated traps in put some wood over the top or any block for that matter and hook it up to a switch, remember you can have the lockdown and the drawbridge(s) on the same trap. Oh, remember to put actuators on the drawbridge silly!

This is a simple mechanism that traps flying enemies, of course it doesn't kill them but you can always add dart, flame,spiky ball or spear traps!
You can use a 1 second timer to fire the dart traps repeatadly then right click it (or hook it up with a switch) and connect it to the traps
To craft a 1 second timer you need to...
•Have a gold/platinum watch (10x gold/platinum bar and 1 chain at a table+chair)
•Have 1 wire
Then craft them together at an anvil.

If your flying enemies arn't going in your traps because you have an odd shaped house maybe like this...

But don't worry we wil get them vampire bats,parrots,demon eyes all we need to do is... Yup you guessed it! Add Traps!

You can add traps like this...





Those flying enemies won't be alive anymore.
They had families... WHO CARES?!

This one isn't very effective but it's good against the stronger enemies.(Pirate Captain etc)
Place boulders in a square structure then put actuators on the block beneath them
Next, wire it up to a separate switch from the lockdown (You don't want to use the boulders straight away do you?)
You can make boulders with 10 stone at a tinkerers workshop.

You can add spiky ball traps on a timer for even more damage against those nasty monsters.

•I also have 2 Firework sprayers which activate when lockdown is engaged just so i know it's on
