The STI is a simple, cheap, and versatile small craft seeing widespread use around the outer edges of Artemis and surrounding Pertam and its orbiting moon.

As part of the Sentinel Series, the STI and its associated ships are responsible for protecting both the entry to Artemis, and patrolling the regions inhabited by the remnants of the Lockheed group that originally left in the Great Exodus but took another path. Their arrival to Artemis was both shocking and dangerous with pursuing hostile forces. After defeating the hostile forces, the AUC now keeps the survivors in isolated regions on Pertam and patrols the local air and space territories.

Armed with several fixed gatlins, auto cannons, fixed missile pods, and equipped with a dual thrust system, the STI is functional in both atmosphere and space with equal maneuverability while able to harass even the more nimble of the larger flight craft.

Presently, the Sentinel Series crafts are not used with general system patrolling or combat operations. Their focus is primarily geared to ensuring no unknown forces enter Artemis and to ensure no one unauthorized leaves Pertam. Similar designs are currently being discussed for mass production due to their popularity with other divisions of the ARDN.

The STI was not originally meant to be put into production, however, a mishap in communication resulted in a prototype being produced when an intern sent the wrong blueprint data to the production department. While it needed a number of tweeks, the overall design proved to achieve above expected results in the testing phase. After sending the intended blueprint data, it was found that it was inferior to the STI. Now it serves as the standard small fighter of the Sentinel Series. Its low budget production, ease of use, and small frame instantly made it popular with the Sentinel CORPS and now enjoys regular deployment. Carriers are able to carry more of these than traditional fighters due to its size and low maintenance requirements.
