Like many games, Proteus contains a hidden debug mode, and in this case it is very easy to activate. This guide will tell you how to activate debug mode, and what its functions are.

First off, the developers have asked me to say that using this mode can ruin the intended experience of the game. So only use it if you don't care or you've already had the full experience!
Enabling debug mode

Enabling Proteus's debug mode couldn't be easier. All you have to do is press Ctrl+Z+0 in-game. That is, press all three keys at the same time. And that's a zero, not an O. You'll know it worked if you see some text appear on the screen that wasn't there before.
Debugging keys
In addition to displaying information useful for debugging, this mode also enables an array of keyboard controls that do things you couldn't do before. Here's a list of what they all do:

Key
Function
Shift (hold)
Greatly increases movement speed
B
Skips to midnight of the next day
E (hold)
Mouse movement changes to moving the "listener". Exact purpose is unknown.
I
Shows some additional information after pressing U
L
Skips to the next season
O
Changes the selected point of interest, shown on screen as "LOC name". Shift+O goes backwards.
P
Teleports to the point of interest selected using 'O'. Shift+P switches between "LOC" and "CRT".
R
Appears to teleport the player to a location only a couple inches away? Exact purpose is unknown.
U
Toggles the display of additional debugging information.
X
Toggles debug camera mode (try WASD and holding the right mouse button
Z (hold)
Speeds up time significantly. Shift+Z makes time go backwards.[/tr]

Appears to reload some stuff.
F11
Toggles the debug display. Debug keys remain enabled.
