308.
308 is often refereed to as the worst ammo in the game as mostly only pipe weapons or some snipers take it often making it completely neglected in terms of game ammo but in any case it is almost exclusively found on scorched as the scorched love to use hunting rifles so again if you sit around the morgon town airport you can farm it pretty well oh and LMGs also use it so keep it close if you balance between heavies
38.
38. is practically a different version of 308. so it goes in pipe revolvers and rifles so it has the same spawns as the 308.
44.
The powerful .44 Magnum round was originally developed for revolvers and then adapted for pistols and even rifles. It is a large-bore cartridge delivering a heavy, sizable bullet at very high velocities so naturally it mostly comes in single shot rounds which you will often find from mr gusties so the only real way to farm this stuff is through going into a nuke silo or some other place heavily enforced by robots
45.
this is the ammo type most known for being in the tommy gun or the combat rifle as well as the fixer but alas the main way to get this one is through showmen in the jarsey district in the expeditions region
50. cal balls
this is one of the hardest ones to find purely because no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ npc uses it but the cranberry bog is the main area this will be found

this is a ammo for the 50. heavy gun and just like its ball varient it can be found in the cranberry bog from high tier raiders or brotherhood members
10mm
10 millimeter is one of the lower level ammos as basically the only weapon that uses it is the 10mm pistol but it can be found on low level scorched by the airport east of morgon town or on some blood eagles
2mm electromag rounds
this is the prime ammo of guass weapons and can really only be found on npcs killed by or carrying the guass weapon
556.
this is tricky since 556. can theoretically be found on every enemy but super mutants have taken a bigger liking to this ammo so areas like the edge of the mire by the radio tower or grafton are hot spots for this ammo
5mm
This ammo suffers from the same curse of only being found on certain kills or enemies with a minigun so super mutants are the best enemies to target for this ammo
alien blaster rounds
this is a unique class ammo type but during lunar events such as the invader event during this month of may in 2024 there is alien ammo scattered around the map but it can't be found out of season so you will have to craft it
Arrows and bolts
scavengers have this ammo and no one else but they can be found around the flatwoods or usually in the donation box as the community hate this ammo
Cryo cells
get it from events
flares
why are you using flares? they only spawn in cargo drops
Fuel
Fuel being thrusted into the limelight of the meta due to the cremator and the "holy fire" weapons has quickly become high demand so it can only be found in vendors, through players and floater spawn areas such as by the north of whitespring or mutant areas as mutants and floaters often co exist
fusion cells
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you not fusion cells can only be found in tool boxes, robots, and ticks
Fusion cores
you can make these or loot generators to get them or secondly go to any of the power plants and hook a fusion generator up to the fabricator to create them or find them in power armor
plasma cores
find it on enemies who wield the plasma gatling cough cough blood eagles
gamma rounds
these can only be found in test sites or on cultists due to the children of atom not being in this game I recommend transmission station 1AT by deathclaw island
Harpoons
you know damn well you aint using these round but alas the best place to find them is whitespring
shotgun
raiders
plasma cartridges
you can find them on enclave bots or officers
railway spikes
I honestly don't know for this one

well the best thing I can recommend is grinding on a expedition like alantic city with a melee weapon which will earn you just about every ammo in the game
"what if I want to craft it?"
use the ammo factory at the top right of the map called converted munitions factory
or
use ammo factory perk to produce 200% more when crafting
