Introduction:
The state of New Hanover is located in the east part of the map. It's divided in three regions: The Heartlands, Cumberland Forest and Roanoke Ridge and the largest territory.
Notable Locations:
Map of New Hanover:

Valentine (The Heartlands):

Valentine is a livestock town, a short ride away from the Horseshoe Overlook camp; the first camp the gang makes after their exodus from the frigid mountains.

Several suppliers and businesses can be found within the town including two saloons, a butcher, a doctor, a general store, a gunsmith, a newspaper stand, a stable, and a hotel.

The northern section of Valentine contains the main street with most of the buildings and businesses. The southern section is home to the livestock yards, including various pens, and the auction yard. The east side of town is home to a smaller saloon, a few homes, and the town church.

Temperatures in Valentine are fairly cool and rarely reach double figures (Celsius), even during the day. The nights are also fairly cool, although the temperature won’t usually drop below freezing. Valentine is on approximately the same latitude as Van Horn Trading Post.

Annesburg (Roanoke Ridge):

Annesburg is a mining town in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover, which has been mining coal for nearly a century. It is the most modernized and largest settlement in the state of New Hanover, being larger in size than Valentine and the nearby Van Horn Trading Post. The town is constantly covered in a thick, dark blanket of fog from the coal, and large chimneys pump black smoke into the air. The surrounding water beside Annesburg has an oily sheen from the large amounts of pollution, with many oil barrels and large quantities of garbage seen littered around the river bank.

Freight trains regularly pass through Annesburg, delivering and collecting goods. Most of the settlement's population either work in the mine or live with somebody who does. The workers of the mine live in rows of identical, grey wooden huts, running along the side of the hill. Stairways and paths connect this housing area to the mine and the main street running through the town at the base of the hill.

At the top of the hill is the mine itself. The mine features a railway system for mine-carts, which deliver coal around the settlement. The mine and its surroundings are protected by guards, who become hostile if the player enters restricted territory. The area is loud, busy and dirty, and seems to be very dangerous. Health hazards are abundant around the Annesburg mine, which may be why so many workers have lost their lives here.

Scattered around the top of the hill are wooden planks and tree logs, which, seeing as many tree stumps surround Annesburg, have been gathered from the nearby forests of Roanoke Ridge.
Notable Animals Species & Wildlife:
Legendary Animal Map:

Legendary Fish Map:

Legendary Beaver: Endemic to Elysian Pool in New Hanover. The light hair on the beaver makes it easy to recognize compared to other beavers in the region. Its herbivorous diet consists of tree bark, cambium, roots, buds, and water plants. A Varmint Rifle is considered to be the most effective weapon when hunting beavers. Killing this animal will give you the opportunity to craft a rare trinket. The Legendary Beaver is Found just southwest of Butcher Creek.

Legendary Bighorn Ram: Native to Grizzlies West. This ram can be easily distinguished by its short light gray hair and its larger size. As a herbivore, it grazes on forbs, woody vegetation, and grasses. The ideal weapon to hunt this ram is either a rifle or a Bow with Poison Arrows. Killing this animal will give you the opportunity to craft a rare trinket. The Legendary Bighorn Ram is Found in Cattail Pond, west of Valentine.

Legendary Chain Pickerel: Fishermen have mentioned that the only way to attract this fish is by using Special Lake Lures. Reports suggest that the activity of this fish increases on sunny days. Fishermen and locals state that the size of this Legendary Chain Pickerel could be over nineteen inches long and weighing around nine pounds. The Legendary Chain Pickerel is Found at Dakota River, northwest of Flatneck Station.

Legendary Elk: Endemic to Cumberland Forest, New Hanover. The distinguishable white hair and shaggy mane make this elk different to other elks in the region. Its herbivore diet includes grasses, leaves, bark and plants. Elk are easily startled so it is advised to keep as much distance as possible whilst hunting. Long range weapons like a Bow with Improved Arrows, or a long scope rifle, are considered to be the best for hunting. Killing this animal will give you the opportunity to craft a rare trinket. The Legendary Elk is Found just east of Bacchus Station.

Legendary Moose: Endemic to Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover. This moose can be recognized by its larger size and short light gray hair. Its omnivore diet includes shoots from willow and birch trees, aquatic plants and forbs. The best weapon to hunt this animal is considered to be either a Bow with Improved Arrows or a long scope rifle. Killing this animal will give you the opportunity to craft a rare trinket. The Legendary Moose is Found in Roanoke Ridge, at the northeast tip of the map.

Legendary Muskie: Reports state that using Special Lake Lures during overcast weather will increase your chances of catching this fish. Rumors suggest that the size of this Legendary Muskie could be around fifty inches long and weighing over thirty pounds. The Legendary Muskie is Found at Van Horn Trading Post, at the foot of the lighthouse.

Legendary Perch: Local fishermen state that the best way to attract this fish is with Special Lake Lures. It has been noted that this fish becomes more active during sunnier weather. The estimated size of this Legendary Perch is considered to be around nineteen inches and weighing over two pounds. The Legendary Perch is Found at Elysian Pool, to the southwest of Annesburg.

Legendary Steelhead Trout: Like other Trout, Lake Lures and River Lures are the most successful way to catch this species of fish. Trout are known for being more active during rainy weather. Reports suggest that this Legendary Steelhead Trout could weigh over twenty pounds with the length of the fish reaching over fifty inches. The Legendary Steelhead Trout is Found at Willard's Rest, by the waterfall at the northeast edge of the world map, directly north of Annesburg.
Notable Horse Breeds:
Kentucky Saddler - A medium build and muscular horse. These riding horses are hardy and easy to tend to. They can be identified by their muscular, medium-sized frame and smooth gait. The Gray, Black, Chestnut Pinto and Silver Bay are found in the wild. The Gray coat is also purchasable from a stable. Their good nature and handling make them perfect for riding short distances. This breed is known for being healthy, but is let down by poor Speed and Acceleration.

Tennessee Walker - Renowned for their elegant looks and smooth riding making them perfect for long journeys. They can be identified by their refined head and elegant build. The Red Roan, Black Rabicano, Chestnut and Dapple Bay coats can be found in the wild. A Flaxen Roan is purchasable from a stable. This breed is renowned for its eye-catching trot and comfortable gait. They are healthy and handle well, with good Stamina and Speed, making them perfect for long journeys and one of the most popular breeds to come across all throughout the world.

Mustang - They can be identified by their lean frame and unique dorsal stripe along the spine. Grullo Dun, Wild Bay and rare Tiger Striped Bay can all be found in the wild. This breed is known for being loyal but hard to train. They have traits of both work and war horses, so are strong and will not be easily frightened. They have great Health and Stamina, but average Speed.

A unique Seal Brown coat is also discoverable. This breed is famous for Speed and agility, though can be clumsy if pushed too far. Their good Stamina and Acceleration make them perfect for racing short distances.
Notable Weapons:
Calloway's Revolver - The design of the Calloway's Revolver is based on a real-life Smith & Wesson Model 3 "Schofield" Revolver. The in-game version of the weapon is manufactured by Hutton & Baird. It becomes available after completing the mission The Noblest of Men, and a Woman Mission.

Granger's Revolver - A rare Cattleman Revolver, with a dark metal finish and covered in custom engravings. Previously owned by gunslinger Emmet Granger, defeated in a duel near Flatneck Station, this gun has an ammo capacity of six rounds, and can use Regular, High Velocity, Split Point, Express and Explosive revolver ammo.

Civil War Knife - An old Bowie knife with a solid blade, worn wooden handle and large D-shaped handguard for protection. This weapon was commonly used by Civil War soldiers and is covered in rust. It was found in a storage room underneath the ruined Fort Brennand in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover.

Notable People:
Slim Grant:

Slim Grant was a gunslinger in the Old West who had an infamous rivalry with Jim "Boy" Calloway, due to Grant killing his cousin named Ged in 1882 or thereabouts. Grant says that he would have similarly shot Calloway, if he had showed up for a duel they agreed to shortly after it happened. Sometime before 1899, he became the territorial Marshal of New Hanover, based in Annesburg.

Colonel Henry Favours:

Henry Favours fought for the Union during the American Civil War and had at some point been promoted to the rank of colonel. However, rumor has it that his career was anything but successful, and his nicknames suggest that he either ran from battle or at least missed one. Following the war, Colonel Favours got stationed at Fort Wallace in the Cumberland Forest region of New Hanover, to oversee the Wapiti Indian reservation.

At some point prior to 1899, while he is stationed at Fort Wallace, Favours is given a proposition by Leviticus Cornwall to drive the Indians off the reservation, which are allegedly oil rich. Agreeing to it, Favours began taking underhand measures to do so, such as confiscating the tribe's horses and deliberately withholding vaccines from the reservation.

Emmet Granger:

Emmet Granger is a retired gunslinger-turned hog farmer. In 1882, he was reported to be seen during a massacre in Beaver Brook. In 1886, he was rumored to have been involved in the Laidlaw family disappearance. In 1890, he was a suspect in The Chaparral killings. In 1894, he was a witness that led to the Fosse gang arrest. The following year, he was given a federal pardon and acquired some land to become a hog farmer.

Jim "Boy" Calloway:

In his prime, Jim "Boy" Calloway was considered the fastest left-handed draw in the Wild West and is rumored to have “killed fourteen men in a fight at Lewsey Hollow,” as detailed by his biographer Theodore Levin. Levin asserts that Calloway and the Newton twins were friends at some point and that they "rode the Alabaster trail together" in 1873.

In the same conversation, Levin also mentions an incident at Sylvia's Saloon in 1876 involving the Newton twins, who Calloway was alleged to have killed (although Calloway himself dismisses this as "just a lot of bunk" and says that one of the twins was actually a woman). And in 1882, Calloway swore revenge against another gunslinger and soon-to-be New Hanover State Marshal, Slim Grant, for killing his cousin.

By 1899, Calloway is considerably older and has trouble remembering the exploits of his earlier days, much to the dismay of Levin. In his younger days, he crossed paths with Emmet Granger, Flaco Hernández, Billy Midnight, and Black Belle. Despite these many tales, Black Belle says that the legends surrounding him are mostly fiction and that Calloway usually ran from a fight. Additionally, Slim Grant says that he and Calloway were going to duel over the death of the latter's cousin shortly after it happened, but Calloway never showed up.
Notable Secrets:

Gangs & Factions:
Chelonian Cult:

The religion was founded in the late 1700s and came to be led by Anders Helgerson at some point prior to 1899. While headquartered in Boston, they soon became established in the northern New Hanover region, where they actively recruited young and able men, something which made them extremely unpopular amongst the local populace.

O'Driscoll Boys:

The O'Driscolls have been around for about a decade as of 1899, having first emerged around the early days of the Van der Linde gang. After Dutch van der Linde killed Colm's brother, a long-standing rivalry arose between the two gangs. The O'Driscolls managed to attract many young men into their ranks, and thanks to their large quantity of members, covered a lot of territories.

Colm O'Driscoll is said to prefer quantity over quality when it comes to recruitment, so standards to join the gang are very low; all that is needed to qualify for membership is for one to be able to operate a gun, to ride a horse and to plunder and pillage without thought. The leadership's loyalty to their men is no different; every individual member is expendable, and Colm appears to have a nack for easily finding replacements for the men he has lost.

This makes the O'Driscoll Boys very much the polar opposite of the Van der Linde gang. While the latter is smaller, it is a tight-knit group filled with some of the most prolific criminals and gunslingers of the time. The former, meanwhile, is just a huge horde of poorly equipped and trained nobodies, who only really have their sheer numbers as an advantage.

While most of the gang seems to be American, a significant portion of it is made up of Irish immigrants who have strong accents and common Irish names such as Patrick and Seamus. Indeed, Colm himself appears to be of Irish descent and the gang's color seems to be green, which is often associated with Ireland. The gang is ruthless and has no qualms about murdering innocents, including women and children.

The Murfree Brood:

The Murfree Brood are known for being unbelievably cruel and territorial and can perhaps best be described as "horribly inbred yokels who murder, loot and pillage all over", owing to their physical deformities and brutal acts of violence. They rarely wear shirts and are considered by some to be more akin to a horde of animals or savages rather than an actual criminal gang. The gang does not appear to have a coherent ideology like the Lemoyne Raiders or the Del Lobo Gang, but rather seem intent on controlling the local area and keeping the populace in terror.

The Murfree Brood do appear to have a particular dislike of city-folk, as they are often seen robbing people who come from the larger cities in the East. In addition, the Brood appear to be opposed to the ever-growing industrialization of the local area.

Unlike other outlaw gangs like the O'Driscoll Boys, the Murfrees don't carry any valuables and players mostly receive cigarettes, tonics, and herbs from looting them. Another difference is that the Murfrees don't camp in the wilderness. Instead, players usually encounter the Murfrees while they are looting a travelers' camp. Murfrees participating in scripted ambushes against the player will always carry money, however.

@Fangs, I am sorry I do not understand what you mean? I don't use any AI, I literally researched, read and manually wrote all of this including all my other guides. I don't use any AI tech when I have the ability to read and write with my own brain and hands but I will take that as a compliment because if you think I generated all this using AI tech then that says a lot of good things about my actual writing. So thank you?!
