Getting Pearl's Pearl
Row your boat into the sea and find message in a bottle.Read it to reveal the location of the Hermit Home.
The Hermit Home spawns the Crabby Hermit during the day. It can be upgraded three times with material.

  • The first upgrade requires 10 Cookie Cutter Shells, 10 Boards and 1 Fireflies.
  • The second upgrade requires 10 Marbles, 5 Cut Stones and 3 Light Bulbs.
  • The third upgrade requires 10 Moon Rocks, 5 Rope and 5 Carpeted Flooring.

A full upgraded Hermit Home is required to obtain the Pearl's Pearl.

Its main purpose is to be socketed into the Crab King for the boss fight. Socketing the pearl buffs the Crab King significantly, but it makes the King drop the Inactive Celestial Tribute. When the Crab King is defeated, Pearl's Pearl turns into a Cracked Pearl.

Crab King
It can be found in the Swell Ocean inside a circle of Sea Stacks in its Inert form. Players must socket 9 Gems to turn him into his aggressive form and start the boss fight. His position can be indicated by the Astral Detector if the Inactive Celestial Tribute has not yet dropped.

Most players i've seen used purple gems. This boss will attack your boat only and will not attack you therefore armor are not needed. You need weapons, ice staff and pre-built a winch to get Celestial Tribute.

Once you socket all the gems and the pearl, kill him.

Crab King
Moonstorm
Moonstorms will appear over a random area of the map after the Mysterious Energy is spawned. Multiple moonstorm icons will appear on the map to indicate the area that is currently under its effect. Moonstorms will disappear 5-6 Days after spawning or after the player successfully aids Wagstaff in the creation of a Restrained Static, after which a new moonstorm will appear over a different portion of the map.

Inside of a moonstorm, vision will be lowered and movement speed will be slowed similar to the effects of a Sandstorm during Summer. The inventory is also obstructed. This effect can be combated via the use of Desert Goggles or Astroggles.

Moongleams will occasionally form and float around in a similar fashion to Spores.

Lightning will strike frequently inside the storm, leaving Charged Glassy Rock that can be mined to obtain Infused Moon Shards. This lightning is not attracted to lightning rods and will not give WX-78 a charge.

Many effects similar to those found on the Lunar Islands will also take place inside a moonstorm:

  • Enlightenment will replace Sanity
  • Pengull flocks will be replaced with Moonrock Pengulls
  • Regular Hounds have a chance to turn into Horror Hounds on death
  • Gestalts will spawn

After the Celestial Champion is defeated, all currently active moonstorms will cease.

Tip: Build a lightning rod inside moonstorm and then tell Wickerbottom to read The End is NIgh! to get lots of Infused Moon Shards at one spot.
Mysterious Energy
The Mysterious Energy appears once the Celestial Altar, Celestial Tribute, and Celestial Sanctum are built at less than 5 tiles or 20 units away from each other.

After spawning, the Mysterious Energy will release a pulse, completely replacing the current day with a Full Moon and causing moonstorms to appear on the map. During these full moons, Enlightenment will replace Sanity.

While the Mysterious Energy is active, the three Celestial Altars cannot be removed from their Celestial Fissures. Attempting to hammer the Altars will damage the player in a similar fashion to the Nightmare Throne, but will not destroy their tool.

For the Mysterious Energy itself, its only purpose is to allow the player build Lunar Siphonator on it, to summon the Celestial Champion.
The Incomplete Experiment
The Incomplete Experiment blueprint will be given to players by Wagstaff upon entering a Moonstorm for the first time, along with the blueprint for the Astroggles.

The Incomplete Experiment serves as the first stage of the Lunar Siphonator and can only be built over the Mysterious Energy spawned by assembling the Celestial Altar, Celestial Sanctum and Celestial Tribute nearby to one another.

  • Stage 1 (aka crafting the Lunar Siphonator) requires 4 Scrap, 5 Moongleams and 2 Electrical Doodad.
  • Stage 2 requires 4 Scrap, 10 Moongleams and 10 Infused Moon Shards.
  • Stage 3 requires one Restrained Static, the Celestial Orb and 20 Infused Moon Shards. This completes the Lunar Siphonator.

Therefore, the total cost of building the Lunar Siphonator is:

  • 1 Restrained Static: Reward for helping Wagstaff complete his experiment.
  • 8 Scrap: Hammering Abandoned Junk, rummaging Junk Piles, deconstructing Horizon Expandinator.
  • 15 Moongleams: Caught with Bug Nets during the Moonstorm Event
  • 30 Infused Shards: Mined during the Moonstorm event
  • 2 Electrical Doodads
  • the Celestial Orb: Obtained by mining the Suspicious Boulder.

Immediately after the completion of Stage 3, meteors will crash down around the structure, which will destroy it and spawn the Celestial Champion.
The Celestial Champion
It is spawned from a meteor that crashes down after the player finishes assembling the Lunar Siphonator built over the Mysterious Energy summoned from having all three Lunar Altars completed near each other on the Lunar Island. It will initially be inert before absorbing the three Altars along with the Celestial Orb and becoming active.

Upon the destruction of its first form, the Celestial Champion will drop 5-7 Moon Rocks. Its second form will drop 2-4 Moon Rocks and 4-6 Moon Shards. Its final form will drop 8-14 Moon Rocks, 13-26 Moon Shards, and 6-12 Infused Moon Shards, as well as its remains which can be mined to obtain an Enlightened Crown, the pieces of the Celestial Altar, Sanctum, and Tribute, and an upgraded Celestial Orb that emits light when a player is nearby and has access to all Celestial Tab recipes.

This boss has 3 phases. Phase 1 has 10k HP. Phase 2 has 13k HP. Phase 3 has 14k HP.

Phase 3
Aftermath
After Wagstaff removes the energy from the Champion the current Day's clock will be completely replaced by Night, as well as setting the moon's phase to a New Moon. This effectively resets the Lunar Cycle, potentially causing New Moons and Full Moons to occur on a different cycle than previous. Additionally, one should be prepared with a light source after the Champion is defeated as to not have their hard work go to waste from Charlie.

Mine it with pickaxe to make it drop loot.
The Loot
Enlightened Crown
If a Deconstruction Staff is used to break this item, it will drop five Enlightened Shards.

It restores 10 Sanity Meter per minute while worn. When worn by a player with Sanity above 85%, it provides constant light. It will also produce a Minor Gestalt with each hit that will attack the target for 42.5 damage, at the cost of one Sanity Meter per hit. Players wearing it will not be attacked by naturally spawned Gestalts.

The Enlightened Crown has five inventory slots that will each accept one of any color of Mushroom Spore. The color of the spores inside the crown influences the color of light emitted by the crown while worn, similar to a Glowcap. Any spores inside the crown will not be affected by spoilage. Any spores inside a crown will be dropped on the ground when deconstructed.
