I needed a grow base that was easy and cheap to make so I could benefit from growing but not need to invest heavily to do so, particularly for wipes where I may only play 2 or 3 days. This design then also works very well for people learning how to grow as it's very simple to pull off and only features a few minor advanced tricks.

A get a lot of questions about the water efficiency of using 1 sprinkler on 4 planters. Water decimals no longer get truncated so 1 sprinkler on 4 planters is actually a pretty good setup. You can refer to the 10 years of Rust update on this page: https://rust.facepunch.com/changes

The water from 1 sprinkler to 4 planters is basically break even with growing hemp as long as they don't have W genes, which can also help you create 100% condition grow operations if that's your thing.

Using 5 planters or 3 planters per 1 sprinkler is still perfectly fine and they each have their pros and cons but you can have a wonderful grow operation with any of those so enjoy!
