2024 Fallout Vanilla Experince on Win11
By Bando
2024 Vanilla Experience, you just don't wanna go through the hassle of these shotty work arounds that half the time don't work the first time around. Which just waste time on shotty things you can care less about like the mods cause most of the patches are made in mind for the modding community. We all just want a hassle free solution to just playing the game as vanilla as possible. Well here it is. JUST 4 STEPS.

How to get Fallout 3 to run on Windows 11
I have found a solution that lets me launch the game, though I haven't been able to verify if it runs well. This is what worked for me for my vanilla experience.

1.Download
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/17209?tab=description

2.open the file a look for d3d9.dll and put it in the Fallout 3 goty folder.

3.start FalloutLauncherSteam.exe BUT DO NOT START FALLOUT 3 YET!! after you start the launcher, close it.

4. go to \Users\User\Documents\My Games\Fallout3 and go back to the intel bypass folder and put the FALLOUT.ini file into it.

5.You're done! close the windows and play a relaxing game of fallout 3!

*Edit*
This will work if you have an Intel CPU !!!

Also this is just one of many methods that are out there to help get the game running. I simply made this guide because this was the one that worked for me.

I'm glad to see that this helped some of you :)

It worked for several days and then stopped. Tried doing it again but it didn't work. Curious. Will try deleting and reinstalling.

Thank you so much for this! I've spent a week trying to play this game on multiple consoles (All having a different problem) and this is the only fix that actually worked.

Saw a video on youtube, after installing the Intel HD graphics Bypass package you can install the Fallout Anniversary Patcher. Which will downgrade the game to 1.7.0.3 and you should also be able to use FOSE and install mods if you wish.
