Tank Tracks Builder

描述
A handheld builder for Tank Tracks Framework using a fake block to act as the track placing "tool".

NOTE: This does not provide any tracks (and it can only build tracks that are defined). See the framework mod's page for a list of mods that do add tracks, you should add those directly and they will automatically bring this mod with them.

Does not require any materials to place tracks.
Can only place tracks on friendly (non-neutral) vehicles.

It also functions as a TankTracksAPI usage example.

This or a mod similar to this is required for the player to have the ability to add/remove tracks from vehicles.
If you don't want that capability then don't use this mod (mind automatic dependencies).

im having an issue, when i try to do a tank track build with 2x2 and 1x1 wheels it says, failed to create rollers are not straight enough

That's from when you published the world, it has no errors in it (elastic stuff don't count, it's analytics which many players have errors on them).

Yes very likely something caused an error either during loading or during unloading, and that resulted in at least one mod not knowing world unloaded and therefore it didn't unhook events and file handles... for example, all my mods hold a write lock on their own log file which will prevent future world loads if that's not cleared, and frankly this is good because it prevents an ungodly amount of new bugs that would happen if that state was allowed, I realy can't understand why keen doesn't crash the game for these errors, it makes life so much harder for modders, their QA and themselves. </rant>

Anyway, you should still find what caused the first error, it's somewhere in your logs (which btw get deleted after 3 days), I can help you find the cause if you'll share'em :P

Ok I don't know why or how, but when I published that world, it did not work whatsoever, I had the same issue.

but just now when I loaded it to send a fresh crash log, it worked fine.

The world is completely empty and loads just fine, which means whatever issue you had were tied to that session.
When you get errors that don't crash the game, the game doesn't properly handle unloading certain things so it can cascade into erroring every other world because of it, always restart game when you're kicked to main menu from errors.

Now to find the what caused it in the first place, can you find the log where it had the issue and send it (either here or on discord), and if you can't find which then just zip'em all =) they're in %appdata%/SpaceEngineers (a real path you can paste in folder explorer's address bar) - the files prefixed with SpaceEngineers_ and of .log type.

Sure thing. I only found out it was the tank tracks causing issues because I was trying to use a blueprint (of which the tracks were a dependency) because I had gotten another map working. (in hindsight, it was because I hadn't installed the tracks)

Anyway, after like 30 minutes of BS, I decided to add the mods sequentially to see what the troublemaker was. The rest obvious.

I'm having trouble. Every time I try and load this mod, the game boots me back to the menu and tells me to check the logs, which to me (not fluent in techno-jargon) is an unreadable mess.

I had no idea this mod was causing it and had put the game down for a month because I thought it was simply FUBARed after verifying the game files.

I have no idea why, but when this mod (and it's dependencies) are installed on a save, that save will not start.

any thoughts?
