The eighteenth chapter of Half-Life

This is it; the final boss of Half-Life. Combat in this level focuses on doing nothing but unloading as much ammunition as possible into the Nihilanth's head, and blowing up gigantic healing crystals on the walls that act as it's life support. This boss battle is relatively easy yet very annoying at times, as it's purple orb attack can instantly kill you even at max health. You also frequently get teleported to random areas with enemies and climbing puzzles in order to get teleported back to the Nihilanth's cave.

From the Half-Life wiki:
In a vast cave, Gordon finally confronts the powerful and mysterious being that is holding the portal open, the Nihilanth. Gordon destroys its healing system, allowing him to destroy its vulnerable brain. As the creature dies, it floats toward the ceiling, emanating portals, and finally exploding in a giant green blast that overpowers Gordon's senses.
