Beschreibung
A Citadel that tries to stay close to the design as seen at the plaza in half-life 2
(Inside is different since HL2 seems to blow up the inside space unrealistically large)

Requires nothing.

Features -

AI-Nodes, including air nodes.

Enter-able pods as seen in the citadel maps.

Huge open play area.

Dynamic wind at the top of the citadel.

And an npc sequence while climbing up the ladder (goes great with the snake eater mod)

Destructible core - shoot combine balls into the core 3 times to destroy it.

Breen's office with microphone terminal - use the monitor to switch between 3 different floor inputs.

Now in broad daylight! Enjoy!

Judging from the size of models/props_combine/combine_citadel001.mdl this map is about 8 times thinner than the citadel as seen in-game

I tried to stay close to the design while keeping the scale the same as in the cliff area you enter it in. The height is still probably inaccurate because I needed to keep it within source map bounds, but the width should be the same as I copied and pasted the base geometry from d3_citadel_01. Cool insight though.

Nah, the Citadel just looks unrealistically small in the chapter you enter it in. They mapped it way too small on the exterior. Judging by distant views of it through the skybox and whatnot, it looks much more massive. More than capable of containing an area of the size we see in Half-Life 2.

Think about the Citadel in Half-Life: Alyx. HL:A is a prequel taking place between HL1 and HL2, and the Citadel during the midst of construction is VERY visible throughout different parts of the game, so by bringing the Citadel somewhat to true scale through VR, you can easily deduce that the Citadel is fucking gigantic.
