[ESP/ENG] Aumentar la Resolución / Up Scale the Resolution
By HunterBolt

    Dentro de los archivos del juego encontrarás un archivo de configuración con el nombre "SUN.INI". Haz click derecho y abre el archivo con un editor de código como sería Bloc de Notas.

    Modifica el apartado "Video" con tu propia resolución (En mi caso: 1920x1080):

    ScreenWidth=1920
    ScreenHeight=1080

    y añade la siguiente línea de texto:

    AllowHiResModes=yes

    Debería quedar así:

[ENG] Modify the Follow Files:
  • 1.- Access the game's local files.

    Navigate to the installation directory of Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun.

    You can go to your Steam library, right-click on "Command & Conquer™: Tiberian Sun™ and Firestorm™", then click on "Local Files" and select "Explore...".

  • 2.- Modify the SUN.INI file

    Within the game's files, you will find a configuration file named "SUN.INI". Right-click on it and open the file with a code editor such as Notepad.

    Modify the "Video" section with your desired resolution (In my case: 1920x1080):

    ScreenWidth=1920
    ScreenHeight=1080

    and add the following line of text:

    AllowHiResModes=yes

    It should look like this:

  • 3.- Modify the DDrawCompat.ini file

    Within the game's files, you will find a file named "DDrawCompat.ini" or "DDirectDrawCompat.ini".

    Modify the file in the same way you modified the "Options.ini" file. This time, change the "SupportedResolution" constant, which by default contains the three only resolutions you can choose within the game.

    Finally, you can add or replace the last two available resolutions with the word "native". So you can play with your computer's native resolution. (Don't forget to add a comma if you're adding the word "native").

I want to thank the guys at CnCNet again for helping me out. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have created this guide. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Enjoy your games because I'm very excited that Tiberian Sun and other gems from this great series have made it to Steam. ^^!

Small note: the guide makes it seem like adding the "native" option adds your native screen resolution. This isn't really true; it adds all natively supported screen resolutions.

Thanks for the guide but how do you stretch the game to full screen? My game is like in windowed mode with black bars left and right.

Thanks for the guide 🙂 Only just installed on Steam deck yesterday and this helped improve the experience!

To make the movies fullscreen you can try leaving the parameter "StretchMovies" on "yes" (StretchMovies=yes). You can also change this parameter in the options menu.

Sadly I don't know if theres some way to stretch the Menus. :cartmanscream:

Thanks, fantastic guide. Anyway to make the cutscenes firescreen though instead of just being a small box in the middle of the screen?

The use of settings in the Documents folder only started from C&C: Generals I think. TD, RA1, TS and RA2 definitely don't do that yet.

Maybe you have to launch the game first otherwise it's inside the Documents Folder. But most of the .INI files like the Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Dawn .INI were inside the main folders of their respective games :csce_terriermon:

hm i can't find file named SUN.INI in the new update

Resolutions larger than 1920x1080 are pretty much unplayable anyway. Unless you're projecting the game on a wall, your units will be too small to distinguish them.
