Introduction
General Tips
  • Save materials until you complete Area 3. You don't really need to upgrade Nagisa, Rinka or Arisa. The first 3 Areas are easy even without upgrades.
  • If you struggle with Leyla, you can upgrade 15~ points weapon / 10~ armor. She has the weakest Special (a teleport, meh).
  • Once you unlock Otoha, upgrade her 30~ points weapon/ 20~ armor. She will be your best character for clearing game.
  • Fire grenade is very good in the first 3 Areas. After that you get better options. Its main purpose is break down enemy formation. Making a escape way between waves, avoiding being surrounded.
  • The drones are average in the first 4 areas, due a lack of upgrades and more drone types. After that, drones are top tier because you unlock upgrades like homing missiles and laser for all your equipped drones. Also you unlock the giant version of some drones. Making drone build top tier. All drone chipsets are very good.
  • My tier list is Kanon > Otoha > Rinka > Arisa > Nagisa > Leyla. Sadly, you unlock Kanon after Survival. So probably you don't play much with her.
  • Use walls to your favor. Enemies will get stuck or slow down when you are in the other side of a wall. Also when you get surrounded, enemies will spawn in the other side of the wall!
Drone attacks, homing missiles, lasers and grenades get through the wall.

Character Related
Nagisa.

Nagisa was successfully treated.

You need to fail any Mission in order to get Nagisa turned into zombie or wait for story event. Then you need to give her treatment. It cost 1 Vaccine.

Rinka.

Rinka was successfully treated.

After you defeat Rinka in the Mission 1-4, you can give treatment later in the base. Is part of the tutorial so you don't need to buy a vaccine.

Arisa.

Arisa was successfully treated.

After you defeat Arise in the Mission 2-4, you can give treatment later in the base. It cost 1 Vaccine.

Leyla.

Leyla was successfully treated.

After you defeat Leyla in the Mission 3-4, you can give treatment later in the base. It cost 1 Vaccine.

Otoha.

Otoha was successfully treated.

After you defeat Otoha in the Mission 4-4, you can give treatment later in the base. It cost 1 Vaccine.

Kanon.

Kanon was successfully treated.

In order to unlock Kanon you need to complete Survival, a new Area that unlocks after you beat the game (Mission 8-1).

Once you have unlocked Kanon, fail any Mission in order to get Kanon turned into zombie. Then you need to give her treatment. It cost 1 Vaccine.

Survival
Survival.

Completed Survival Mode.

Once you clear the Mission 8-1, you will unlock Survival. In order to complete Survival you need to survive for 30 minutes.
Note: Character upgrades and accessories are disabled in this mode.

I recommend use Otoha. She has the best melee attack and special skill.

The melee attack has a huge hit box, making possible to hit all enemies around you, pushing them far; You completely control the special skill. Making possible to create a way out while avoiding being surrounded easily. Damage output is high because it last for several seconds, but keep in mind it will be kinda useless after minute 25, because some enemies will turn into damage sponges.

As soon mission start go to the right. You will use that wall as defending position.
  • Try to stay in the red area. That will make enemies in the left side to get stuck or get slow down, because they will form a "1-man wide column" trying to go the right side. Hug the wall to avoid being surrounded with surprise spawns (the circle around you).
  • The blue area is your main target. Keep it clean.
  • If you go to the green area, the enemies in the left side will rush to your position. Try to clean left side after you finish clearing right side.

Skill Tier List.

The following list is based in a drone build. Keep in mind you only have 12 skill slots. Pick regular version over giant one, because it has more units. We trying to combo drone units with laser / drone homing missiles.
Heal is mandatory. The reason because is rated it low is because that skill appears most of the time.

S
  • Drone Chip A - It increase damage up to 72%!
  • Drone Laser - It applies to all your drone units. Get it as soon you can, because sometimes it wont appear again.
  • Drone Homing Bullet - It applies to all your drone units. Get is as soon you can, because sometimes it wont appear again.
A
  • Giant Combat Drone / Combat Drone - It will move far from your location looking for enemies. The giant drone is an enhanced version, but it has less units.
  • Giant Support Drone / Support Drone - It will stay near to you above your head. The giant drone is an enhanced version, but it has less units.
  • Giant Spiraling Electric Drone / Spiraling Electric Drone - It will damage enemies around you. The giant drone is an enhanced version, but it has less units, but wide range.
B
  • Shield - You will get hit sometimes. Is not priority, but you need to scale defense.
  • Physical support - You need to increase your HP for safety.
  • Heal - It will grant you regen. Useful, but not priority after level 1.
  • Incendiaty Granade - DoT in a wide area of effect. Pick only if nothing else.
  • Drone Chip S - Your drone attacks cooldown shortens. It applies to Drone Laser and Drone Homing Bullet!
C
  • Magnetic Field - DoT with wide range, but only applies to you.
  • Miniature Missile - Explosive damage, but only applies to you.
  • Shot support - Will only boost your weapon damage, but it only applies to you.
  • Optimize - Will shorten the time you reload, but is only useful if you are boosting your weapon damage. It only applies to you.
D
  • Power Boost - It multiply the amount of power. Kinda useful in early stages.
  • Special - It use is very anecdotic, since it only let you use special skill one more time per map (you have 3 special skill uses per mission by default).
  • Support Explosion - it has wide area of effect, but clearing this way you won't get power (hearts).
  • Grenade - The explosion is not big and has low the damage
  • Land mine - Most of the time will explode next to you making zero damage to enemies.
  • Slash Support - Increase melee damage. You are not melee right?
  • Censor - Increase item pull-back (meh)

The following video is my first attempt. It has mistakes. I'll try to comment the most important parts. Watch it at 2x speed.

Notes
  • Always target the enemy with the lowest HP. That way you will reduce numbers and avoid being surrounded.
  • After minute 11 Crows spawn. Is a mobile unit. Priority target.
  • The minute 15 is the first difficulty spike. (Hug the wall !!! ). Your priority after massive enemy spawn is make a escape way. Melee all the way!
  • 30 seconds after last deadly spawn circle. Another mobile units start spawning: Dogs. The big ones have high HP.
  • Around minute 18 there is another round of massive spawn circle around you (Hug the wall !!! ). The "Otaku" is another tanky unit. Run in circles.
In the video I tried using Special, but it was useless against them. Always run !!!
  • Around minute 22 a new unit will spawn: Bats. Another mobile unit. Watch out !!!
  • If you have problems clearing enemies. You can change side of the wall. That will slow down enemies.
Just dont try to clear out enemies with a flamethrower like I did. It doesn't work >,<
  • After minute 24, tons of mobile units will spawn.
  • Around minute 27 Giant Maid with Maid Bosses (zombie version of protagonist) will spawn. Maid Boss drop skill box !!!
  • In the last minute an "Otaku" final waves will spawn around you. Don't get surrounded !!!

@jikidian10 and BSusVier Thanks for information. Guide has been updated.
BSusVier 8 Mar @ 6:39pm
Substories are unlocked by doing 3 (for SS-1), 6 (for SS-2) and 9 (for SS-3) unique stages with each character. So e.g. for Nagisa, if you use her for 1-1 to 1-4, 2-1 to 2-4, then 3-1, you would unlock all her substories. Certain substories have character restrictions, i.e. you need e.g. Otoha or Leyla etc to unlock them.
jikidian10 8 Mar @ 6:32pm
It seems to be complete 9 unique stages with each character, a story for every 3. But, you won't unlock one if the character in the story isn't around, so you can't get Nagisa 2 until I think Leyla or Otoha are in the party, and the check for unlock is beating another stage. So play 8 stages with each girl, then the ninth once you have all 5 of the main girls in the party.

@Heaven Fall It could be that, but I got Arisa-3 in my first mission with her. So who knows :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
Heaven Fall 8 Mar @ 2:18am
I only play Nagisa and Arisa

And this the only one where I have the 3 story

Maybe the kill count or the number of mission do by caracter ?

@Heaven Fall Game got updated after I did finish this guide. So I dont know if was originally tied to character use or if it was changed. I'll update guide with the info from my second playthrough.

Im trying to figure out what's the trigger, but no luck.

I do recommend leave side-stories to the last.
Heaven Fall 8 Mar @ 1:55am
and this one
Leyla-1. VDX 1-3
Heaven Fall 8 Mar @ 1:45am
for information this two didn't work for me

Rinka-1. VDX 1-3
Otoha-1. Oniden 4-3
mashi81 6 Mar @ 11:33pm
ok, kanon3 in 7-3, the unlocks are almost certainly tied to usage
mashi81 6 Mar @ 10:23pm
got kanon2 in ida 6-2. maybe it's dependent on the number of stages played with a character
