how to record gmod on a low-end PC
By PxDor2
do you want to record gmod youtube videos or anything of the sort but worry you don't have a PC mighty enough for OBS to be running alongside it as well?

do not worry, for I shall show you how to record gmod smoothly on any low-end computer

Requirements
1. Garry's Mod
2. Windows 10 installation
3. Enough free storage space (a small price to pay for not having to configure OBS yourself)
4. A computer
Notes
now, after you've loaded into a map, you have to note a couple of things,

1. if you want non-stuttery footage, your game MUST also not be stuttery. unlike OBS or whatever we will be using the Xbox gamebar which doesn't affect performance and doesn't cause the game to stutter, which means that the lag that comes DIRECTLY from the game will be the the decider in how choppy your footage is.

if your game is running smoothly, perfect.

if not, try and uninstall some addons.

another thing to note that Xbox Gamebar isn't as versatile in options as say OBS is, but it has everything you'll need for a reliable gmod video (including recording your voice and discord)

Recording
now assuming that everything is in order, hold your Windows key and G to open the Xbox gamebar.

if you did everything correctly, you should see this.

alongside this, you can find other things to customize your recording

they are both important to use and can be changed depending on what you want, it is not hard to configure.

once everything is in order, press the record button and it'll start capturing your footage.
Post-Production
for this part, you are mostly on your own for editing (if it needs any at all), keep in mind that the video files will take up LOTS of space but that is to be expected of recording anything with actual good framerate and quality.

Assuming you have a large hard drive of 1-2 terabytes or more (which are pretty cheap compared to the average amount of money needed for a gaming pc), this shouldn't be an issue and would be best so that you don't end up loosing footage.

anyways, for editors I recommend...

If you plan to make in-depth gmod videos:
Davinci Resolve

For anything else,
VidMix

@V2, I don’t have an Xbox either but it works for me, if OBS is working for you, then that’s good, this guide is mainly just aimed for people who don’t want to bother setting up the settings to optimise and instead have the game bar do it for you.
