Intro
So a couple days ago I downloaded War Thunder again after years and it surprised me how good the game looks, sounds and how much improvements there have been made in general. But when I took my American pre-war tank into a test drive, I cringed.

You see I care about immersion and historical accuracy in War Thunder and those are the top priorities of this game, so it's not a sin to question the female voice in the US ground forces. While female tank crew members might be a thing today the relative numbers are obviously very low and before the modern day it was pretty much nonexistent. So this guide is for people who chose to remove her and people have the right to do so. I do not need to explain myself further.

I have tried to find a solution for this but I realized after seeing the hate people get for asking the same question and the lack of answers that I was on my own. So I fixed it myself.
Steps
>Get an audio editor where you can modify an audio file instead of saving a copy or exporting it like Wave Editor: https://www.wave-editor.com/

>Get Fmod Bank Tool: https://sharemods.com/peboa10qv0m6/Fmod_Bank_Tools.zip.html

>Go to Steam folder>steamapps>Common>War Thunder>sound

>Find "_crew_dialogs_ground_new_en_us.assets.BANK" or any other file where you want to remove or edit audio.

>CUT that file to a separate folder.

>Open Fmod and select that BANK file, then click Extract.

>You will find the audio files in the "wav" folder in the Fmod folder.

>Open Wave Editor and open any of those audio files with "chief" in them.

>Select the middle part of the audio and just delete it with the DEL key on your keyboard so that there is only a flatline left.

>Save the file and do the same for all files with "chief" in them. *NOTE* simply deleting the chief files with the female voice doesn't work for unknown reasons, if you decide to delete the whole BANK file you can do so but you will lose all crew voices for American tanks.

>Open Fmod again, select the same BANK file that you separated earlier and click "Rebuild".

>If the program gives an error you can ignore it and if it takes too much time to extract or rebuild just try again and fidget a little.

>Place the BANK file back in the "sound" folder and you should be good to go, don't forget to keep a copy of it for redundancy.
Outro
This technique can be used to modify/remove any audio in the game, so have at it.
I will answer questions, but I did this by ingenuity not modding experience so don't expect me to know the answer.
I am not responsible for anyone or anything, modify the game at your own risk. That said, it's just a simple modification.

You are welcome.

PS: if you don't have anything interesting/helpful to add, do not comment. Your opinion does not matter.

@man of armageddon I'm sorry I just figured this out on my own because I really hated the voice, I guess you could use this method to replace the crew voices if you still have the old files or if they're still in the game somewhere. But I think it's a little more complicated to replace them.

Can you make a tutorial how to replace new crew voicelines with old ones? Example: replace new Serbian ground voicelines with old ones?
