Controls
These controls are in reference to the default controls using keyboard.

Arrow Keys = Movement
Left Alt = Zap
Left Control = Super Jump
Left Control (hold) = Super Jump into hover (buzz-fly)
Z = Turn Left
X = Turn Right
Left Shift = Locate (points to the nearest egg)
Spacebar = Chirp
Esc = Pause Menu / Back / Skip Messages
Enter = Start

I have created a controller template on Steam if you'd prefer to use controller.

A few tips with the controls:

Spamming super jump is faster than moving normally, this will be important as there are some enemies in the game that will chase you and the only way to get away is to time your super jumps.

Chirping as no gameplay function, it is just for fun.
Basic Gameplay Info
If this is your first time playing Zapper, here are a few things to know:

What are Eggs?
The goal in each level is to find and smash all 6 eggs.

The eggs act as checkpoints, so when you die, you will respawn at the last egg you smashed. There are some levels with exceptions where they'll give you a checkpoint right before certain sections.

What Are Fireflies?
For completion, you will also have to collect all 100 Fireflies in a level and locate all secret areas. If you are going for all Fireflies, you will most likely find every secret as well.

Every level has a set of Yellow Fireflies, you have to collect them in a certain order in order to get a big yellow firefly that can activate buttons for you. If you fail to collect them in the correct order, they'll turn into normal fireflies and you'll have to restart the level. If you are going for all fireflies, it is recommend you restart if you fail this as there will be fireflies behind secret areas with buttons.

If you collect all 100 fireflies and end the level by smashing the final egg, you will be taken to a bonus level where you have to collect all 100 Z coins, in a relatively fast pace, and get to the end to unlock a new shield. If you are too slow, the platforms will collapse behind you and you'll have to collect all 100 Fireflies all over again for another attempt. Unlocking new shields is purely cosmetic and isn't counted towards the 100% total. You can change which shield you are using in the options menu.

After you collect 300 fireflies in a world, you'll unlock a secret 4th level in that world to get the last 100 fireflies. These levels aren't like the normal levels. We'll talk about those when we get to them.

What is Super Zap?
Every level has set areas with a cluster of fireflies, if you approach the cluster with enough fireflies collected, they'll charge your zap and make it a Super Zap. The next time you hit the zap button, it'll be super charged that travels further, kill enemies you normally can't and break metal crates. Take a mental note as to where each cluster of fireflies are located because you might need to go back to it for some levels.

Starting Lives / Game Over
You will start with 20 lives on Normal Difficulty, and 10 lives on Expert Difficulty, that might sound like a lot but you will be expected to die multiple times in this game. It isn't that the game is hard, its just that it is very easy to make mistakes. As such, getting a game over isn't punishing at all, you will have to restart the level from the beginning but you are granted another set of lives when you continue.

What is a Shield?
You can find shields in some levels inside metal crates or when you complete a bonus level. These shields will protect you from 1 attack from an enemy or hazard in the level, after that it disappears. It will not disappear if you die by falling off a cliff or into water. If you end the level with a shield, it will carry over into the next level.

Difficulty Differences
The main difference between playing on Normal Difficulty or Expert Difficulty is that in Expert Difficulty, Maggie (the bird that kidnapped Zapper's brother, Zipper) will occasionally show up and drop bombs on you. You will know she's pursuing you when you hear her laugh and shadow appear on the ground. This forces the player to keep moving, if you stand still for too long, the bomb will drop on you and kill you. Other than that, the gameplay is essentially the same.

You can actually use the bombs that Maggie drops to kill enemies, including ones that can only die to super zaps. Just make sure not to get caught in the explosion.

Version Differences
If you're playing on PC, there isn't much to this section.
There's actually a lot of differences between the console and the PC versions of this game, for example:

On console, you can move the right stick to move Zapper's antennas, this doesn't have a practical use, but you can position yourself to grab a super zap further away than usual.

On console, there's multiplayer modes with a variety of mini games to play, something completely absent in the PC version.

Idk if its just an audio bug or something exclusive, but on the console version there is an extra sound effect that plays when finishing a level, part of the theme that goes "Yeah yeah!" is played after the final egg is smashed.

Anyway, with all that out of the way, lets talk about the first world.
World 1 - Level 1: Overgrown Undergrowth

This is the first level, it is the shortest level and easiest one to 100%. There are a lot of friendly NPCs in this level to teach you the mechanics and basics of the game.

The first thing you will see is an orange i panel, a green cricket, and an upside down egg.
The green cricket will tell you:
"COLLECT ALL 6 EGGS TO FINISH A LEVEL."

Simply move onto the egg to smash it, congrats, that is your first smashed egg. Moving forward you will also see a wooden crate, zap it to break it and get your first firefly. Make sure to grab any and all fireflies you see as you playthrough the level.

Moving down the steps, you'll see your first obstacle: A green slug circling an i panel.
The red cricket will tell you:
"RELEASE THE FIREFLIES AND THEY'LL HELP YOU LATER."

Zap the slug to kill it and free the firefly trapped in it.

Moving forward, you'll see a statue that slashes the space in front of it. This enemy is unkillable. Simply just walk past its cycle. If you move left from the statue, you'll smash your second egg and find your first red firefly, these count as 5 fireflies.

Moving past the statue, you'll see a blue cricket that says:
"PRESS THE [super jump] BUTTON TO SUPER-HOP TO HIGH PLACES."

There are some places you cannot reach without the help of super jumping, if there's a spot you can see but can't reach, try super jumping to it.

You can also change the direction of the super jump in mid air but its kind of tricky to get down, its only really useful in some levels but its never required.

Pass the blue cricket is the third egg, you'll then see another red cricket that says:
"PRESS THE [super jump] BUTTON TO SUPER-HOP A GAP."

But before you move forward over the gap, go right into the log.

Here you'll find your first set of yellow fireflies, you can tell which one you're supposed to collect by how it glows brighter. Be careful, there is also a red ant roaming about, red ants cannot be killed by a normal zap.
Here is a picture showing the correct order to collect the yellow fireflies, the green dot being where it'll spawn once you get all of them:

After collecting the yellow firefly, you can now jump over the gap, you should have 34 fireflies by this point.

The green cricket up ahead will say:
"ZAP AN OBJECT BY TAPPING THE [zap] BUTTON"

The fourth egg will be standing next to him. There are also 2 blue fireflies, 1 red firefly, and 1 extra life in the crates around him.

Super jumping over the gap ahead, the red cricket will say:
"HOLD THE [locate] BUTTON AND YOUR ANTENNAS WILL POINT TO THE NEAREST EGG."

The next egg is hidden inside one of the crates up ahead. You can find it faster by using the locate button. This function does not come in handy in later levels as most eggs are in plain sight, just harder to get to.

After breaking the crates, you can head to the right to find a few fireflies on a ledge up high. After getting all the fireflies in the surrounding area, head into the log to the left.

This is where your yellow firefly will activate the green button inside so you can use it. There will also be a cluster of fireflies to charge your zap.

Press the green button to open a bridge and across from it you will see 2 fireflies and your first metal crate. Break the crate to get an extra life. Then you can leave the log, but make sure to grab another super zap before you leave. You should now be at 63 fireflies.

Up ahead you will see a bridge with some slugs on the railings. Before you go killing them, lets make use of that super zap, super jump over the gap in the bridge and you will see 3 marching squirrels. Be careful not to get trampled on, they are killable with a super zap, but lets use it on the metal crate towards the right, you will get a shield to protect you from 1 attack.

Now go back to the bridge and kill the slugs and collect the fireflies you walked by earlier. Afterwards, go back into the log and grab another super zap. Walk pass the squirrels and you'll see a green slug and a yellow snail. Snails will lose their shell when you use a super zap on them, then you can kill them with a normal zap. Snails will always have a red firefly on them.

You are approaching the final section of the level now, you should be at 91 fireflies at this point. If you are not, go back and find the fireflies you are missing. If you are, continue forward.

You will see 3 crates, a blue firefly, a red firefly, and the final egg being guarded by red ants. These are the last collectibles for the level. Grab the fireflies first, if you smash the final egg, it will end the level. Make sure if you are going for 100% that the last thing you do in any level is smash the final egg.

Behind the final egg is a green cricket that will repeat the same line that was said at the beginning of the level.

If you smash the final egg with 100 fireflies, you will be taken to the special round.

The moment you press the green button, platforms will appear for you to collect the z coins. But if you are too slow, the platforms will fall behind you and you will fail. The blue platforms will fall after a second of you jumping on it, so don't stay on them for too long. Make sure to go at a steady pace and don't overthink it, just try to get through the bridge at a good pace and you will reach the end and get your first shield. If you do fail, you can try again by replaying the level and going for 100 fireflies.
World 1 - Level 2: Half Acre Wood

Immediately to your left on the ledge of the waterfall is 2 fireflies, don't forget to grab them. Pots are breakable in this level so make sure to zap them when you see them.

The first egg you'll see is in front of a gong, after you smash the egg, you can zap the gong to reveal a bridge to the first secret.

But to make use of the cluster of fireflies on that island, you will need 10 fireflies, get that many and head back there to break the metal crate and get a red firefly. Don't worry about grabbing another charge on your way out, there's another cluster up ahead.

Following the normal path, you will see the second egg. After smashing it, you will see marching squirrels. Again, don't get trampled on and remember that they are killable with a super zap.

After that, you will find yourself in what looks like a garden. A cluster of fireflies are here to give you a super zap.

The robot cricket will say:
"FIREFLIES YOU HAVE RELEASED WILL SWARM TO GIVE YOU A SUPER-ZAP."

After collecting all the fireflies in the garden, you should have 41 fireflies. Move forward to find the 3rd egg. You will then see a body of water with some carrots floating on top. If you jump on the carrots, they will shortly fall into the water, so don't stand on them for too long.

There is a blue cricket here that will say:
"WATCH OUT FOR SURFACES THAT GIVE WAY WHEN YOU LAND ON THEM."

Once you get across the body of water, you will see a line of pots and crates. The 4th egg is inside one of the pots. After that, go left into the opening of that area and you will find another set of yellow fireflies:

Here, you will see that firefly 5 is inside the snail and firefly 7 is inside the metal crate. Be careful not to accidentally grab the 8th firefly when you go to grab a super zap. Grab the yellow firefly and leave with a super zap. Be careful not to accidentally use it, we're gonna need it to break a metal crate coming up.

When you get passed the marching squirrels, you will be in a swampy area, do not zap the pot next to the blue cricket just yet, again we need the super zap later.

The blue cricket will say:
"TURN TO FACE IN ANY DIRECTION BY PRESSING THE [turn buttons]."

Make your way to the left corner of this area, your yellow firefly will activate a button up ahead. Here is where the metal crate we were talking about is, it contains a red firefly and the wooden crate next to it is an extra life. You can now go back and break the pot from earlier.

The 5th egg is on a lone platform in this area that you will have to super jump to, afterwards, you should be in area with mushrooms and another set of yellow fireflies. This one doesn't need a graph, as there are only 4 of them right next to each other, just make sure not to accidentally grab the wrong one.

The red cricket here will say:
"RELEASE THESE FIREFLIES IN THE CORRECT ORDER. AFTER THAT, A FRIEND WILL FOLLOW YOU TO UNLOCK A SECRET."
We will refer to the yellow firefly as "friend" from here on out.

After grabbing this friend, you will see a slide, go down it to get the fireflies on it. Don't forget to break the pots here too.

You will see a swing with a button next to it. Do not go on the swing yet, first activate the button and follow the bridge.

After getting the fireflies there, you should be at 91 fireflies. If you are not, go back and find the ones you are missing.

Going on the swing will get you the last 9 fireflies of the level and bring you to the final egg.

The special round is the same level depending on the world, but the hat you unlock is different. Just do the same thing you did in the last special round and you will be fine.
World 1 - Level 3: White Knuckle Water

This level has moving logs that you will need to be on to traverse the level. Make sure you occasionally hop off the logs to collect fireflies. Don't worry about missing the log, another one will show up.

This is a good level to round out the first world, it is to test to see if you are getting used to the mechanics of the game. If it is your first time, you might struggle on this level but don't let that get to you.

Be careful of hornets in this level, they can only be killed with a super zap.

After the first section, you should hop up onto a section with spikes coming in and out of the ground. You can super jump over these and be safe from death. There's also a metal crate here, but don't worry too much about it, it just has a shield in it. There's a cluster of fireflies up ahead that you can use to break it if you feel like back tracking.

Right now you should be at 12 fireflies, I will confirm the count after each section as it is easy to miss fireflies here.

The first egg is on the ledge of this area and where you'll see more logs moving. Grab the fireflies off the lily pads, again be careful of hornets. Towards the right side of these logs you will see a shed, you can zap the bell to open the door.

The robot cricket will say:
"ZAPPING A ROPE MAY BURN THROUGH IT."

He is referring the raft next to him, but lets go inside the house first.

This area has 4 wooden crates, 2 metal crates, and 3 hornets patrolling. You will need 20 fireflies to get a super zap here, but don't worry, by the time you enter this house you should be at 16 fireflies, there are 4 fireflies in wooden crates. You can now use the super zap to break the metal crates here and get 2 free extra lives.

When you leave the house, you should now hop onto the raft next to the robot cricket. Zap the post holding the rope while you are standing on the raft. You can zap the post off the raft and super jump onto it, but if you miss, you will have to restart the level as the raft does not come back.

After zapping the post, the raft will behind to move upwards. Grab the 4 fireflies as it moves, if you miss any, you can risk going on the logs to the left and super jumping to get the fireflies you missed, but you will lose a life each time. So make sure you get it the first time.

After that you should now be at 24 fireflies and at another spike section.

There's a cluster of fireflies here and a metal crate, after breaking the metal crate and getting all the fireflies here, you'll see another log section.

In this log section, there are piranhas jumping out of the water, you are standing on the logs at the wrong place at the wrong time, you'll die from them. There are also beavers here chilling in the water, you can use them as platforms but they will knock you off if you stand on them for too long.

Technically, you don't have to step foot on the moving logs in this section at all by super jumping onto the rocks, lily pads, and beavers. But be careful when you super jump over a moving log, the game has a bug where it will move you with the platform even if you aren't standing on it, this will push you one space off where you were aiming and most likely kill you. So be careful.

By the time you get to the 3rd egg, you should be at 37 fireflies.

Continue forward and the end of the log section should be an area with a set of yellow fireflies. The graph here is weird as its hard to fit them all on one screen.

After grabbing your friend, you should see another house with the 4th egg on it and a cluster of fireflies. Let's smash the egg and open the door. Your friend will activate 2 buttons inside. Use the super zap from outside to break the metal crate before breaking the wooden crate. You should exit the house with 52 fireflies.

Jump across the log to get 2 fireflies on the other side, then go back over to the house. Get on the raft and zap the rope to get the raft moving. Make sure to grab the yellow fireflies on the way, if you mess up, restart the level.

After getting all the yellow fireflies, jump over to the lily pad towards the left and grab any fireflies you passed by. Then head by up to grab your friend.

You should now be in an area with more spikes, crates, and slugs. The 5th egg is in a wooden crate here. The closest super zap is in the house up ahead, so grab all the fireflies you can here, then head forward, zap the bell to unlock the door, and head inside. Your friend will activate a button for you to get to the super zap, be careful of the snail inside.

You will have to reenter the house twice to break both metal crates as they both have fireflies inside. After all that, you should now be at 77 fireflies. Head back towards the house and get ready for another raft section. After that, you can super jump to a rock and get the other fireflies.

Moving forward, you should jump onto a house. Before entering, lets super jump onto the beaver on the left and get 2 fireflies in that area, and if you're feeling risky, there's an extra life passed the 2nd hornet in that area, DO NOT GET THE FINAL EGG YET.

After getting the fireflies, jump back to the house, zap the bell, and go inside. You'll see moving lily pads and a bunch of crates. One of the metal crates has an extra life, all other crates have fireflies in them. You should exit the house with 96 fire flies.

Now jump onto the raft and zap the rope. You should now be on track to get the final fireflies and end the level by smashing the final egg. It is still possible to backtrack from here if you are not at 100 fireflies.

After getting all 100 fireflies from here, you should get an extra message during the result screen saying you unlocked the bonus level. Then you'll be taken to the secret round.

World 2 should now be open to you, but make a stop to the bonus level first.
World 1 - Bonus Level: Crazy Apiary

Here is the first bonus level, you'll notice that you are now flying, have a constant super zap, and there's a timer on the bottom right of the screen.

Hornets will come at you as you lap the hive, your objective is to get all 100 fireflies before the time runs out. Don't worry about missing some as you pass by them, you'll lap back around to grab them.

Each time you zap a hornet, you'll gain 3 seconds, and more and more will show up as you go on. If you die here, you'll just respawn. But if you get a game over, you'll have to start back from 0 and start over.

You should be able to finish this with ease, especially if you brought a shield as it'll take a hit for you.

When you beat this level, you should unlock the first cheat: "Insect Eye". You can go into the options menu to toggle cheats.

Insect Eye will make your screen have compound eyes, like a bugs vision. The game still plays normally but across 7 different eyes, so good luck if you turn this on.
World 2 - Level 1: Canopy Heights

This level is pretty straight forward, there are a few new things that we'll address as we go.

The first thing you'll notice are buttons that'll throw darts at you, just make sure to quickly move out of the way after stepping on one of these buttons.

After the first section of buttons, you'll find a section of wooden platforms that fall as you step on them. The first egg is after this section. You don't have to worry about the metal crate next to it, it contains a shield.

After you step off the swing here, you'll find pillars that'll shortly fall after stepping on them. Move carefully but quickly. The 2nd egg is after this section.

Once you reach the 2nd egg, you'll notice a new type of enemy: Wooden faces that go "ho-ha". Sometimes they carry items on top of them, but don't try to jump on top of them. Instead, zap them, they'll drop whatever they're carrying. But don't do it on their direct path, they'll keep moving even after getting zapped, they are also unkillable.

Make sure to break all the metal crates in this section, they all have fireflies in them.

After getting all the fireflies in this section, head south at the bottom of the area, you should see a lone platform off the edge. Stand on it and the camera will move to reveal a section area.

In order to reach this secret area, you'll have to zap the statue with the green gem eyes. Use a super zap to hit it and a path will reveal itself. Then you'll find a set of yellow fireflies, here is the order:

The friend will automatically activate the button towards the right. The metal crate here has an extra life if you brought another super zap with you.

Pressing the button will reveal a bridge to a secret area. This area has spikes coming out of the ground in a pattern. I would study the pattern for a moment if you want to get out of here without losing a life. There's a firefly in the top right corner, don't forget about it as the UI can get in the way and you might miss it.

With all that out of the way, you can head back to the "ho-ha" guys and head right to proceed. You should be at 31 fireflies.

You'll see another section with wooden platforms that fall, and another set of yellow fireflies (yes I did die trying to get this screenshot):

The wooden crate has the 3rd egg in it so make sure to smash it before continuing to the button. The button will open a bridge that'll take you to a skull shaped structure. There'll be an extra life on the nose and a firefly in each eye. If you go into the eyes, you'll be in a secret cave with a giant spider in it.

This spider is the first "chase" type enemy you'll encounter. These enemies will chase you as long as they can see you, but they cannot reach certain areas.

The key with "chase" enemies is that they'll only move when you do, so position yourself outside of their range and then move quickly with super jumps. If they are giving you a hard time, this spider enemy is killable with a super zap.

After that, you should now be at 47 fireflies.

Moving along the path, you'll find another new enemy: An orange orangutan. These guys are like the marching squirrels and hornets in the previous world and are killable with a super zap.

After that, you'll find another section with stone pillars, watch your step here.

Then you'll find another section with blow darts, move quickly here, when you reach the end of it, you'll have to super jump to get to the high platform. You'll want to super jump again to reach the higher section with 2 fireflies and an extra life. You'll also find the 4th egg, after smashing it, head inside the mouth of the structure.

This secret area has moving platforms and 5 metal crates. Make your way around the area and break all the metal crates, they all have fireflies in them. Once you leave this area, you should be at 64 fireflies.

Once you leave the other half of the dart section, you'll find a pyramid shape with enemies circling it. Here you'll see the "oh-ha" enemies again, but you'll see some are stacked on top of each other. Its the same if it were holding a firefly, just zap it to make it drop the other one.

At the top of the pyramid, you'll find another statue with green gem eyes, zap it to reveal a hidden passage way down below. Make your way to it.

On your way down, you'll run into your first "wandering chick", if you try to smash it as it is, you'll lose a life. The red cricket here will tell you: "A WANDERING CHICK MUST BE STUNNED BEFORE YOU CAN RETRIEVE HIM." So simply put, zap it first, then smash it. Wandering chicks will only move on a set path.

After smashing the 5th egg, you can go to the hidden passage that was opened early, but you won't be able to do much since you need a yellow friend. If you head north from where you smashed the 5th egg, you'll find the next set of yellow fireflies.

I can't fit them all on one screenshot, but they're pretty scattered so it shouldn't be too hard to get them in the correct order. And remember, step out of the path of the darts after pressing one of the buttons. Good luck.

After grabbing the friend, go back to the secret area and activate the button. You can now break all the metal crates in this room. They all have a firefly in them, except the one on the bottom left corner, it has an extra life. After this, you should now have 87 fireflies. Leave this secret area with a super zap, you're gonna need it.

After the area where the yellow fireflies were, you'll press a button that'll make a stone gate tremble. You'll have to press all the buttons in this area in order to open it. But BE CAREFUL since pressing any of these buttons will activate all the darts in the area, STAY CLEAR OF THE AIM OF THE BLOW DARTS. Don't try to super jump from button to button as the second blow dart will most likely hit you before you can move.

Once the stone gate falls, you'll see a snail, this is why you needed the super zap. Kill it to get the final 5 fireflies. If you aren't at 100 by now, go back to get the ones you missed.

The final egg will be north from the snail.

The bonus round in this world will have you use a lot of super jumps to navigate so just make sure you're paying attention to where the platforms are spaced out from.
World 2 - Level 2: Cutting Edge Inc.

This level has a lot of moving parts and if its your first time you will probably die a lot. This level has moving logs going through a lot of hazards and sections with moving cogs where you'll have to jump at the right time to proceed. Just watch carefully and proceed with caution.

Immediately you'll see a wooden crate and a metal crate. The wooden crate has a firefly so make sure to grab it. The metal crate has a shield so don't worry about coming back for it.

Once you make your way onto the moving logs, dodge the hazards as they come to you. After the second set of blades, there'll be a platform on the right side. On the bottom of that platform is a set of nails you can hop on, at last nail, go to the right to find the first secret area.

Here you'll find your first moving cog. Just super jump to it at the right time, when you're on it, the camera will change direction with it so just keep that in mind, if you're ever confused, the arrow in the center of the cog will always point to where you're supposed to go. Remember that you can hold the super jump button to hover for a brief moment in case you miss the jump. You'll find a set of yellow fireflies, you'll have to jump back and forth between each platform to collect them in the right order, as well as break some metal crates.

Once you leave the secret area and make your way to the end of the log section, you should be at 24 fireflies. Make sure you have this amount as it will be very hard to backtrack the deeper you go in. Once you're ready, go in the pipe with the red up arrow to go to the next section.

At the top of the pipe, you'll find your first egg and another cog with a swing at the end. Plan your jumps accordingly. on the other side of the swing is a new enemy: A vacuum cleaner. They are unkillable so avoid them the best you can. They have a set path so just stay out of their way.

Pass the vacuum is another set a pipes, head down for the next log section.

Avoid the saw blades and make your way to the moving logs. Similarly to the first log section, there is a secret towards the right side of the area, but you'll have to super jump to get to it.

This secret area is similar to the first one, but it just has a few fireflies and some slugs so make sure to grab all of them and make your way back out to the log section. At the end of the log section you'll find the 2nd egg. Proceeding from there you'll find another slug and a wooden crate for 2 more fireflies. You should now be sitting at 41 fireflies. Again, make sure you have all of them up to this point as it is going to get harder to backtrack.

Up the pipe is another cog section with more vacuums. Jump carefully. From here, you'll have to jump from one moving cog to another so be careful. Its going to be hard to try and explain every step of the way with how the camera reorientation itself, so just make sure you leave this section with 48 fireflies. The 3rd egg is at the end of this section. Head down the pipe for the next log section.

This next log section will have nail projectiles fly across the screen similarly to the blow darts in a previous level, so be careful. The secret area for this log section is on the left side this time, right before the double nails come out. Super jump to it and it'll be on the left side of the wall.

This area has multiple moving cogs that you'll have to jump on and off of. Just make sure to grab all the fireflies here and head back out to the log section. At the end of the section you'll find the 4th egg, which is a wandering chick. There are 2 more fireflies between the vacuums up ahead, you should now be at 60 fireflies.

On top of the pipe is another cog section and the 5th egg. There will be a set of yellow fireflies here, the first 3 you need to collect are on the first cog you jump on, then the last 3 are on the connecting cog next to it. Once you have your friend, make your way back to the egg for your friend to activate the button next to it. The button will make a bridge leading to a high platform with 4 fireflies.

Jump down to the lower section where the vacuum is, not back down the bridge, and proceed to the end of this section. You should be leaving it with 73 fireflies.

Down this pipe you'll have to navigate conveyor belts moving left and right. Avoid the first set of saw blades and jump onto the first set of conveyor belts. Here you'll find another set of yellow fireflies. Just be careful for the order you collect these in, as the moving conveyor belts makes it a bit tricky.

With your friend in hand, make your way through the rest of the section. Be careful when you super jump off the conveyor belt as there are vacuums patrolling that platform. At the end of the section there'll be a metal crate with an extra life in it, you'll have a chance to break it soon if you want.

When you head up from the pipe, you'll be in the final section of the game. You should be at 85 fireflies from here. Hop onto the fire cog and follow the arrow until you see the button, activate the button and you'll unlock a bridge, allowing you to get a super zap. You can get a good view of the section from here. The final egg is on the top left corner so make sure that's the last thing you do here, I'll be using this screenshot for reference of the next few steps.

Firstly, grab the 4 fireflies here and grab a super zap, make your way to the bottom left corner of the area. You'll find a snail here, kill it for 5 fireflies.

Now go the top right corner of the area for 2 more fireflies. The last fireflies on on the cogs. You should now have all 100. If you don't... good luck backtracking. The final egg is a wandering chick so zap it and end the level.

Expert Difficulty Tip:

The bombs that Maggie drops fall straight through the cogs and because you're always moving on a cog, you'll never get hit by it or have to worry about it.

It is entirely possible to still get all 100 fireflies if you miss the last friend. But you'll need some extra lives. Use one of Maggie's bombs to kill the snail, then jump onto the button, it won't do anything, but you can hop to the fireflies to the left and right of it. The real tricky thing is the last 2 fireflies on the other side. I would stay in the center cog and position yourself to super jump towards them. You can still collect them that way but at minimum you have to lose 4 lives for them.
World 2 - Level 3: Raptor Cavern

This level is a dark cave and might be a little difficult if you're new. You'll notice a new enemy, a green grub lookin guy. These hop around in a path but are killable with a super zap.

Going down the path, you'll see a big firefly looking guy, this enemy acts similarly to the hornets from an earlier level and are killable with a super zap. You'll also see a set of yellow fireflies. Use the platform on the left side of the big fireflies path to get to the first one. Collect the rest with caution. You'll also see the first egg as you collect them.

Once you get your friend, head back to activate the button. It'll activate a bridge to a super zap and a spiders nest. Remember, this is a chase enemy, so it'll go after you if you go onto its web. Use the super zap to kill it if you get a chance. The grubs stuck on the web are killable with a normal zap. You can use the super zap to break the metal crate near it for a shield.

Now you can continue down the normal path, you'll see a bone platform, super jump to it but move quickly as it'll fall shortly after you land on it. Towards the south of the platform connecting the bones is a set of bone platforms that'll fall, but it has a firefly. To get it, you can super jump to the middle one, grab the firefly, then super jump back to the last one to make it safely.

Take note of the green button on as you continue up the path. You'll find yourself in a skull that keeps opening and closing its mouth. Make sure not to be standing on its teeth when it chomps down. Here, you'll have to zap all the golden teeth to open the path to continue.

The first one you zap will have the 2nd egg. The other two will have red fireflies. Now head down the path that opens after breaking all the golden teeth.

(Ignore the firefly count, I went back to for screenshots)

Down the path, you'll be on a spine like pathway with a set of yellow fireflies. Start collecting them but watch out for the bigger fireflies. Once you have your friend, go back to where you saw the button from earlier. The button will make a bridge to another spider web. You most likely won't have a super zap when you come here and it'll be too much of a hassle to go back for it so just be careful.

After you get the fireflies in that area, go back to the spine pathway and continue forward. Make sure to grab the fireflies that are off the sides of the path. Once you reach the end of the spine pathway, you should be at 49 fireflies.

You should now see a flow of lava going down, platforms will fall in place once you step on them, but they will also start to sink as you stand on them so make your jumps fast. Once you jump on the first one, 2 more platforms will fall. Jump to the left one first to grab the firefly, then make your way to the right one.

Once you make it through, you'll zap open a metal crate and the wooden crates there for fireflies and the 3rd egg. Now you'll find more platforms that fall as you step on them, in the middle of them is a bone structure with some fireflies on them. Super jump onto it to get them. Next, you'll have to super jump carefully as fire balls jump up from the lava below. They don't change in pattern so just jump carefully from the center. Half way through this section will be a super zap you can grab at the tip of the bone, grab it.

At the end of the section you'll see a wandering chick circling a metal crate, zap the metal crate first for an extra life and then smash the 4th egg.

From here, its pretty self explanatory. More falling platforms, and a snail. There'll be a web with a super zap up ahead, grab it to kill a snail and break a metal crate near it. Grab another super zap after that, you'll need it for another metal crate up ahead. After that you should be at 75 fireflies.

Now you'll see a bone bridge. The brown bones will fall when you stand on them so move away from them quickly. At the end you can zap the metal crate there for an extra life. Now you'll be at another lava section, its just like the previous one. Remember to grab any fireflies in this section.

Once you reach the end, you'll see a button and another bone bridge. On the other side of the bone bridge is actually the last section of the level. You should be standing at 80 fireflies now. Once you get to the other side of the bone bridge, rocks will fall from the sky and make a maze for you to navigate. There's a wandering chick in here, so make sure to smash it for the 5th egg.

From the top of the maze, you can see there is a set of yellow fireflies. You'll be able to get to them soon, head to the steps on the right side of the maze for now. At the top of the steps is a section with falling platforms, at the end you'll see a spider web to the right and a bone slide to the left. Go to the right first and collect the 4 fireflies there, there is no spider here so don't worry.

Now go down the bone slide, you'll be on top of the maze now. Get the yellow fireflies in order and DO NOT head south of this section yet, the final egg is there and there are still fireflies to collect. After grabbing your friend, head back to the button on the other side of the bone bridge. It'll open a bridge of platforms to another spider web, there IS a spider here so be careful. I have trouble with this particular spider a lot so I would grab a super zap from earlier and just kill it.

You should now be at 100 fireflies, go back to the top of the maze and go south from it to find the egg, its a wandering chick so watch where you jump. You should've unlocked the bonus level from this.

Expert Difficulty Tip:
Make sure Maggie isn't active when you go over the final bone bridge. If she drops a bomb during the cutscene of the rocks falling, it'll kill you.
World 2 - Bonus Level: Zap Pest

Zap Pest can be a very hard level if you're not used to the movement of this game yet.

You once again have constant super zap, the goal is to zap down any ants that try to get up the stump. Red ants give you 1 firefly, gold ants give you 5 fireflies. If an ant does get to the top, it'll wandering around the area and shortly go back down the stump in the same column it crawled from.

Red ants will also give you 3 seconds on the timer while gold ants will give you 5 seconds. You'll rarely lose to this level to a time out as that usually means ants got to the stump and you'll probably die to them first, so don't worry about the timer.

Once you get to the half way point, ants will start to move faster and the waves will be more abundant, you'll have to let some ants on the stump otherwise you'll die trying to get to them. Just stay away from them, the hitboxes on them can be kind of weird.

My strategy with this level is basically trial and error, learn the pattern of each wave, as they are the same every time, and knock them down as fast as possible, the more time you can keep the ants off the stump the better. There isn't much guidance I can give for this level, I got multiple game overs on my first attempt, just endure it and once you get 100 fireflies, you win.

Once you beat this level, you'll unlock the flip screen cheat. Which is kind of misleading. It actually flips the levels itself horizontally. So if you want to replay the levels with a bit of a twist, this'll be a fun one to try out.

World 3 - Level 1: Spook Ville
This level is pretty straight forward, but be careful as there are a lots of enemies and hazards that'll catch you off guard if you're not paying attention.

You'll first encounter new enemies, ghosts! They only move in circles so don't worry about them too much. They can be killed with a super zap.

After passing 3 ghosts, you'll see the robot cricket, he'll say:
"ZAPPING SOME THINGS WILL HAVE EXPLOSIVE RESULTS."

He's referring to the black line leading to the TNT barrel, zap the end of the line to lit it and wait for the explosion. Don't stand too near the explosion as it'll kill you. Afterwards, you'll find the first egg.

Next you'll find green gas spewing out of the ground, you'll notice a creature inside the gas as well. It is safe to pass once the green gas effect disappears, don't worry about the creature part of it as it stays on screen longer than the gas and doesn't do anything.

When you reach the third green gas, head right from it and you'll find a secret cave.

You'll have to super hop to get across onto a moving platform, time the jump right. The super zap can reach the metal crates from the center of the area. There'll be an extra life in one of them, you should leave this cave with 14 fireflies.

Once you head north outside the cave, you'll notice a set of yellow fireflies. Be careful as the pattern for this one is a little tricky. Once you collect your friend, you should find the 2nd egg, smash it then head back to activate the button. It'll bring you to a platform with 2 fireflies and an extra life. Now go back to the 2nd egg.

You'll see enemies with pickaxes, we'll call them miners, they behave like other stationary enemies from before. They swing in a pattern. Learn the pattern before proceeding as its easy to get caught off guard, and don't rush through it.

After getting pass the green gas after the miners, you'll find another ghost circling a firefly, head straight left from the firefly to find another secret cave.

This one is a little tricky, as all the moving platforms move opposite of the one next to it. You'll have to break open all the metal crates and get to the center to recharge your super zap. There'll be 2 extra lives in here, you should leave the cave with 39 fireflies.

Now when you head north, you'll find more miners with a set of yellow fireflies. Luckily the camera shows all of them on screen so I can actually help you on the order. While you're collecting them, you should smash your 3rd egg as well.

After you grab your friend, head north and zap another line to blow up some TNT to make a path. Now be careful, after you pass the line where the TNT barrels were, a new chase enemy will spawn behind you: A cactus! These guys behave similarly to the giant spiders, except a super zap will not kill them, it will only stun them. But don't worry, there's a method to kill them. I'll explain later.

Don't worry about the one behind you, it'll stop chasing you once you get to the metal crate in front of you. Now you should see a cross road, left has 2 slugs, in front of you is a line of spikes, and right has a snail and a slug.

Go left, kill the slugs, and break the wooden crate, if you head right you can kill the slug but that's as far as you'll go as you'll need a super zap for the snail and the metal crate. For now, super hop over the spikes but BE CAREFUL there's another cactus in this area.

I'll now show you how to kill it, first you'll need to locate a set of spikes that the cactus can get to, there's 2 sets of them in this area. What you'll have to do is get the cactus to stand on top of a spike, you can do this by having it chase you over a set of them while you stand close and safe from the spikes. Its not to difficult, especially if you stand near a set of spikes and then turn in circles until its on top of them.

Once you kill that cactus, you can relax a bit, I'd recommend smashing the 4th egg north of one of the spikes before continuing in this area. Right from the egg is where you'll leave your friend to activate a button. It'll activate a bridge for you to collect more fireflies and an extra life.

Now, head back in that area where the cactus was and head all the way left. You'll find a super zap, now you can begin breaking all the metal crates, don't forget to go back and break the 2 metal crates you passed and kill the snail. After getting all the fireflies in this area, you should be at 72 fireflies.

Head north from the 4th egg, there'll be another cactus on this path that you can kill with a single spike on the path. You'll notice 3 metal crates here, head back to get super zaps to break them.

Continuing the path, you'll find the 5th egg but something will happen to it. It'll fully hatch. As a chick, they'll behave opposite of chase enemies, they'll only move when you move but try their best to get away from you. You'll see a lot more of these as we continue through the game. Its easy enough to trick chicks, all you have to do is super hop to line yourself up with them and zap to stun them and smash them.

Now explode the TNT barrels and continue north. There'll be another cactus here and he might catch you off guard so be ready for him. While its chasing you, you'll have to collect another set of yellow fireflies.

Super hop frequently to keep the cactus off of you, be careful while collecting the fireflies and remember to stay calm. If you mess this up you'll have to restart the level. Once you get your friend, you can head north from the spikes and leave the area. The cactus will stop chasing you when you pass the spikes.

Explode another set of TNT and continue down the path of spikes, be careful here. After you get passed that, you'll find a path to the left and a path north. Go left first by blowing up the TNT barrels. You'll find a firefly and a button that your friend will activate. You can head down here but you'll only find a single firefly and a metal crate. Now go back to the fork in the road and head north this time.

You'll enter an arena with a sort of mini boss, shooters will come out of the windows and fire a bullet and hide again. You'll see a super zap charge and 3 fireflies. Grab the super zap and head back to the secret to break the metal crate for a shield if you need it.

I would ignore the shooters for now, grab the remaining fireflies in this area. You should now be at 100. If you are not, head back and find the ones you are missing as if you kill all the shooters the final egg will spawn in the center of this arena.

When you're ready, use the super zap to kill the shooters, you can hit them with your super zap from the sides of them, you do not have to get in their line of fire. Be careful if you die here because you'll respawn behind the cactus area again and you'll have to deal with it again.

After you kill the shooters, smash the final egg and end the level.

The special round for this world is pretty short but you'll have to step outside the bridge a lot to get all the coins. You should be able to do this if you pay attention to the gaps in the bridge and don't input to fast as you might misinput and fall.
