Lets Save Jack!
By Nerd Wonder
From reading a lot of the guides for this game, you probably already know the best way to get a good ending is to get Jack to give you a ride to Beaton. This saves you from saving up 800 dollars yourself and can be the fastest route to get there, but to do so you have to stop Jack from killing himself....problem is for a lot of new players, no one has really told how to do it. So if you wanna save Jack from blowing his brains out all over the wall, here's your route to take.

2nd Day: You Don't Know Jack!
You can get some insight on Jack's attitude and so forth from the 2nd day.
When Larry tells you that he can get you some work at either the ad agency or at the newspaper, stop by the ad agency first to talk about the job. The receptionist will tell you to talk to Bailie who is in the bottom left corner who she describes as 'the fellow with the big moustache by the photocopier'. Go ahead and speak to Bailie who will say they need a new employee since they were forced to fire the last guy they had...go ahead and ask about why they fired Jack. Bailie will explain Jack started to become more depressed and strange after he came back from vacation. Bailie states he thought it was some sorta 'hippy liberal nonesense' that Jack got into his head but it got worse and worse as Jack would say things about lying to the public and putting wool over their eyes. This ended up getting him fired a few days ago...and now you kiiiiinda have an idea of how Jack acts and how he thinks after reading it all.
After hearing all of this I personally DONT TAKE THE JOB but I dont know the alternate outcome of taking it anyway.
Continue the 2nd day as normal...
3rd day: Don't Bite the bullet!
On the 3rd day your asked by Patrick at the Newspaper to do an article about Jack who was just fired from his job at the ad agency. Go to his apartment door and SAVE so if you mess up you can just reload and try to rescue him again, but in truth it's actually not that hard to save this guy. When you enter Jacks apartment, you should notice notes hanging up on the wall. If he dies and you go back to his apartment you can read each one. All of them are suicide notes for his coworkers! OH NO! Thus if you say certain things to him in convo he will either tear the notes off the wall or leave them.

Your objective is to get him to tear every letter down from the wall cause he isn't going to kill himself without an explanation for everyone. Every one of Jack's questions apparently has to do with how he was treated at work. Giving optimism and hopeful answers will cause Jack to leave his notes on the wall (cause yer a sheeple in his eyes!) but saying the darker and negative answer will make him tear it off the wall since your truly acting how he feels i guess, thus you have to ONLY INPUT NEGATIVE ANSWERS and they are always the top selection, so you can actually keep clicking your spacebar till it ends. Don't forget to ask him if he's alright and then go back to the Newspaper where you'll receive a phone call from Jack offering a ride.

HORRAY! You've successfully saved Jack from suicide!

If you want to read his suicidal notes, just say the Positive answers instead and go back to his apartment after shooting himself.

Hope this was helpful!

tbh it seems random or there are other variables affecting the outcome. some people say they kept him alive by tearing down every page, some people say they did it by leaving every page up.

Jack beep'd me to say he was ready to ride, but now I can't find him. He's not in his apartment not has his car appeared. Where the hell did he go? Did he leave without me?

You can also just take the job at the ad agency and convince all of Jack's coworkers to see his side of the story and give him a good resume etc etc, and then at the end of it you'll be sent to deliver the box of stuff he left in his office and if you did it correctly he'll already have decided not to kill himself after getting all those phonecalls from his coworkers. Much easier way to do it, since it's more intuitive and you don't get punished for attempting to say positive stuff to a suicidal man- I never would have guessed that was the alternate solution!

I thought the top answers were the optimistic ones... although some of them were more than a little gray... but I thought the point was to convince him to feel better, so that makes more sense to me.

there was 2 maybe 3 notes left on the wall when I played through that part and he didn't kill himself...

Just did this last night and saved Jack even though there was one note left.
