Starting Off
First things to do in the game:

  • Focus on collecting resources first, to make palspheres and start off with your base
  • When placing the Palbox you are determining the radius of your base, make sure it's an effective location, best in an open meadow surrounded by lots of materials
  • Collect food but keep an eye on it in your inventory as it does expire over time!
  • Follow the missions! They appear on the top right corner and are a great guide to a good start-up base.
  • Upgrade your base to have more pals help you out -- you can view what's needed to upgrade the base by selecting [v] on your palbox.
  • Explore the map after setting up your base to find different kinds of pals, materials, and unlock fast-travel locations. It's a huge open world! Go have fun venturing it.
  • While exploring you will come across the Lifmunk Effigies, the glowing green statues. These are used to enhance your capturing ability and upgrade your pals. There are over 400 of these, just collect them as you go.

(Although I recommend just exploring this yourself in-game!)

  • If you find glistening pals, collect them, as they are special kinds of their breed!

  • "Dungeons" are often caves with a mini-boss before being able to exit, also helpful to enter these if you are in need of certain minerals/ ores.
  • Collecting 10 pals of the same breed gives you lots of XP!
  • Make a shield as soon as possible (unlocked at level 4) to give you a buffer before taking health damage during fights.
  • Upgrade your stats !! In the beginning I would focus on weight to be able to carry more stuff, then damage, health, or stamina.
  • Spend technology points to unlock new things you can craft / add to the base.
  • When riding a pal there is no fall damage.
Fun Facts
Some extra features that are nice to know/use:
  • when pressing 4 on your keyboard you can choose to pet you current equipped pal, or any of them in your base if you're close enough to them. (you can even make a Depresso smile!)

  • Don't even accidentally throw a palsphere, at a higher level pal (such as the Mammorest) who might be walking in areas with much lower level creatures, as they will see it as a threat and attack, most likely killing you.

  • Craft saddles and other items specifically for certain pals to unlock cool features like riding them, or gliding, or even flying, with the pal gear workbench.

This review is still a work in progress! I am open to any feedback or other good tips to add, even for me, as I have just recently started this game myself. I hope there were a few helpful things in the guide for some. :)

Enjoy the game with your friends or solo!
