How much is the fish?

As you all know, fish don't have legs, that's why you can find them right in the water.
They use to hide in the depts and wait for a bullet moment to be caught on a bait!

Methods of fishing

Ladies and gentlemen, we have to wield a long object with a fishing line called a fishing rod: (please do not misuse)

Maybe you wanted a fishing net, but the developers had a different opinion about it. (At least right now)
In theory - you can make a net out of coal bunkers, but it will weigh a couple of tons.

As well, you can use a spear gun or your bare hands, but it may take some time.

You can also use an old and proven anti-climatic grandfather method - explosions and gunfire

How to fish?

It's probably worth swimming out to the open sea as there are more fish there, or you can stay on the pier, it doesn't matter, it all starts with throwing a float into the water!

To make a long throw it is worth holding the left mouse button and at the moment of throwing lean the rod in the right direction, it will allow you to throw the bait for an extra 5-15 meters.

Remember that the fish are scared of you, more than you are, the propellers, and the sound of engines, you need to keep some distance from them.

You got a bite!

Looks like your bait has interested the fish! But remember they are just playing with it, you need to wait until the fish starts pulling the float to the bottom.

Now you need to pull the fish to yourself, to do this, you need to use the secondary function key (B) or (R) I don't remember what the default is.

And so, if you managed to catch the fish, you can release it as it will live ~1 minute in your inventory.

You can also keep the fish in your inventory and sell it for 100$ in almost any port!

In addition, you can leave the fish in storage until better times! And for some reason, they are stored in the mineral tanks.... Well, it could be worser!

Perhaps fishing should be evaluated as entertainment or a way to gain start capital as it requires minimal investment. Below I will write a list of fish and add some pictures of how they look, if you still haven't met them.

@Ragnar the Red, about fish - rn its spawn is based on the depth, not on the map position
I've done some tests, and the results were the same

About fish which you cannot catch - I have no idea what can't be caught. The problem is that fish spawns are completely random, so you in theory can catch all of them. But, I have not seen deep water species at all.

My theory is that you need to hunt for it underwater, but I spent like 2+ hours diving without any good results, I have only seen the same fish species as usual, also it's very dark on the depth and the progress is quite slow.

Beginner said that devs will remake fish spawn according to fish habitats, but i have no idea then it will happen.
