Have you ever missed not having the reconnaissance photo in your mission folder when you approach your objective? Have you had to switch to the secondary (or tertiary) target and have no idea what it looks like?

Here you will find almost all the aerial reconnaissance photographs of the targets attacked by the 8th AF on your missions.

I had the idea of creating this guide step-by-step for a long time, but the hard reality is that it is a huge job for just one person.

Thanks to GT182, who gave me the reference to the extinct website "bombs-away", and searching on it, I found another similar and also extinct one (v7th Reccon Group), where recreating the aesthetics of the ground base from the game,

they followed up on the campaigns of those pioneer players who played the classic, shared information and experiences of the classic game, and in which some hard-working pilots already took the reconnaissance screenshots you are getting now.

Warning! They belong to the classic game; it is possible that some objectives or terrain have been modified in the Redux.

So the work here is not really mine (just uploading the photos to the guide), but rather those who dedicated their time to doing it many years ago.

The website recognizes the players "v1stLT 14th Corps, v1stLT Hoop2, v1stLT Joel R and v1stLT Misha who flew all the reconnaissance flights", so, although on Steam they will now use any other nickname, the merit and recognition remains to them.

I have versions of many of these that are annotated with lengths of specific buildings so that you can calculate the length of your bomb train and use the intervalometer to make sure you hit what you want. https://imgur.com/a/fr1gQgq

Hello GT182. The photos I am uploading are the ones you mention, from the databack of the V8thOps website, hehe, so they are all taken with north facing up. As I said at the beginning, it's only me who uploads the content, but other people did the work.

When I started this guide (a little forgotten at this point) I sent you a friend request that you probably didn't see.

Mike, when I was with the original V8th Ops, on the Bombs-Away website, new recon photos were made with North at the top to make it easier to plan your bombing run. I have to find them as I have them all saved from the original B-17 game by Micro Prose, but still have to find them. I even shared being the co-commander of the group with Wolfman from the UK. We made op missions for the guys to run and with an award system to increase their rank. But only for those that joined V8th Ops.I even had V8th Ops hats made back then for the members.
If there's a way you can get my email, I'll send the recon photos from back then to you.o
If no one remembers, when Bombs Away came out in 1999 or 2000 it was the most expensive flying game on the market at $45.95. It was the start of all these flying and bombing games we have now. It ran on Windows Millennium before XP came out. I don't think my original dice would even work today.
