If you press TAB, you can enter your inventory. From there you can press the "Sort" button as displayed in the screenshot and it'll refresh your inventory. Resetting the timer on your food!
Enjoy!




Way 2
If you leave/recook your food in a campfire. It will stay fresh and not expire!
As shown below, and you can leave that food in there and it'll stay good.
