Deceived by the forces of evil to be forced to prematurely bring about the end of the world, War - the first horseman of the Apocalypse - is accused of breaking sacred law by inciting war between Heaven and Hell. In the ensuing onslaught, demonic forces defeated the hosts of heaven and claimed Earth.

Brought before the Holy Council, War is indicted for his crimes and has his powers removed. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to seek out the truth and punish those responsible.

Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and travel the ravaged remains of Earth in his quest for vengeance and innocence.
