Instructions
I play this game on a 960m with 60 FPS and you can do it too!

Here's what to do:
  • Go to the following folder (copy paste into explorer, run or windows search bar)
    %localappdata%\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows
  • Open Engine.ini file

  • OR open the file directly:
    %localappdata%\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini

  • Linux path thanks to genderneutralnoun
    <~steam_directory>/steamapps/compatdata/1623730/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Pal/Saved/Config/Windows/Engine.ini

  • Add the following settings at the end of the file
    [SystemSettings] r.ScreenPercentage=10 r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=False r.MotionBlurQuality=0 r.AmbientOcclusionLevels=0 r.postprocessAAQuality=0 bSmoothFrameRate=False r.AmbientOcclusionRadiusScale=0 r.DepthofFieldQuality=0 r.DefaultFeature.DepthOfField=False r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0 r.DefaultFeature.AmbientOcclusion=False r.LightFunctionQuality=0 r.ShadowQuality=0 r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=1 r.Shadow.MaxResolution=64 r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0 r.Shadow.DistanceScale=0 r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=0 r.DistanceFieldShadowing=0 r.DistanceFieldAO=0 r.RenderTargetPoolMin=100 r.LensFlareQuality=0 r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0 r.EyeAdaptationQuality=0 r.BloomQuality=0 r.FastBlurThreshold=0 r.Upscale.Quality=2 r.TonemapperQuality=0 r.LightShaftQuality=0 r.TranslucencyLightingVolumeDim=2 r.RefractionQuality=0 r.SSR.Quality=0 r.SceneColorFormat=3 r.TranslucencyVolumeBlur=0 r.MaterialQualityLevel=0 r.SSS.Scale=0 r.SSS.SampleSet=0 r.EmitterSpawnRateScale=0.75

I found them! I was looking in the wrong folder. For other Linux users, it's under /home/[your user name]/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1623730/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Pal/Saved/Config/Windows. The ID is 1623730!

Try to look in /steamapps/common/Pal/Saved/Config/Linux or something similar. if you don't find any .ini files in your palworld game folder make your own path and file

I can't find the .ini file. I'm using Linux Mint, and when I google where the save data is I only get results for CMD servers. I'm playing singleplayer. Help?

somehow it's the same except my fans are louder
im using the steam deck mod too so maybe doing this doesn't work with it?

Hmm it would be nice what each of the variable flags are attached to, ie 'r.ScreenPercentage=##' I would assume that the r. is REAL (IE variable is of a Real numeric value) and ScreenPercentage is the fill rate percentage of the graphic layer??

What do each of these do?
