[C.O.F] Lantian Class - Heavy Artillery Frigate

The Lantian Class - Heavy Frigate is a story of second chances with a mostly quiet career until modern times after it's intended decommissioning time.

Early Life
Originally constructed around the same time as the Antares in the first coalition fleets by OnDontè Shipyards the class would receive moderate tech and software updates over it's mostly quiet and sleepy career. The class would be known for it's agility and ease of maintenance by its crew at the cost of thin corvette like armour and somewhat cramped condition aboard.

The Lantian class would serve through the worst of the verankia pandemic, gallipoli campaign and fought in the Ondonia campaign as well as the defence of the Treldan Nomadic Capital along with many others.

Even though the class would serve through most of these campaigns at the front-lines and thrive with minimal casualties they would not be noticed for much other than being a good workhorse.

The Lantian Class would serve primarily in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Main Fleets as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Expeditionary Fleets along with all the sub fleets, Battlegroups and squadrons under them along with a few patrol squads.

Later Life

As the class began to show its age with the first units showing metal fatigue due to subpar alloy purity and construction faults the official start of the retirement process for the class would begin. Batches one through four being would be gradually decommissioned and progressively cannibalise for spear parts for the rest of the class and other compatible ships while newer classes entered service like the the Triton MK 6, Python MK 7 and upgraded Jupiter Class Battlecruisers. This planned retirement would be somewhat cut short when the disastrous and fateful first contact was made with the Hive Dominion in the Orinda Campaign and the ensuing galactic war for survival that led shortly after for the next decade.

During this dark time the Lantians that were pushed out of service could often be found lined up near shipyards of all sizes on the front lines being gradually taken apart for spare's to service other ships and fellow Lantians. While the battle against a now feral and scattered hive mind is ongoing, it has more or less turned to clean up search and destroy mission with the Lantian class ironically becoming one of the best suited for the job. Following the worst of the Hive Dominion War, most Lantians would make there way to decommissioning yards to finally be retired. Yet again however post-war tensions are erupting into interventions and small scale wars with the ERN entering the Tho-Ru conflict it appears the old and now veteran Lantians will be on the front lines once again. With more mixed results showing there age.
