The Main Cause of Hearing problems
Surround sound

If you are having a hard time listening in the game, Hearing things from the wrong direction or not hearing enemies at all, You need to do the following if you have not already done it.

You need to disable and Turn off, Surround sound of any kind for your headphones.

This includes 7.1, 8.1 or any other modes.

The reason for this is that Hunt showdown has a built in Surround sound that conflicts with the ones you use in your headset.

For logitech users, You need to install G HUB to disable the surround sound setting in your headset.

For Razer users, You need to install Razer Cortex and disable the surround sound that way.

For others, I don't know google it.

Training your hearing
If you are having a hard time predicting where a player is going to pop out of in Hunt and failing to do so, It is not really an issue of audio.

See the biggest problem with audio in Hunt at the moment is that, Its VERY HARD to tell which floor a sound is coming from. If you have successfully done the first step ( Disabling surround sound on your headset ) You should be able to tell which direction all the noise is coming from, However, The height of the noise will remain an issue for you.

How can you tell the height?

This unfortunately will be a skill issue forever. Unless you know the material of each floor, You wont be able to tell the exact location of a Hunter in prison for example.

If you know the roof is metal and you are hearing someone walking on metal on your left, Thats the only way you will be able to tell they are on the roof.

To train your hearing, The best thing to do is to learn compounds through playing the game or through trails! Which are heavily underrated.
Please rate this guide!

Thank you for reading the guide.

I hope this has helped you out. A lot of new players do not know this and get turned off from the game because of this small but huge detail. I would appreciate it if you would rate this guide to get it to the larger audience.

Good luck out there Hunters!

Old hunt sounds were more identifiable back in the day, when walking or running in a building the footsteps had a loud echo compared to outside. I dont know why they made changes to sounds but it is what it is

You use to be able to tell; But they changed it multiple times. I forgot to also mention. If someone is in basement you cant hear them as well. They need to leave the basement to start making audio.

It has been confirmed by the devs in the livestreams that the gimmicky 7.1s actually make your hearing worse!

I have confirmed this myself. This is 100% fact.
