Day 9 - 'Deliverance' - Expeditionary Colony Ship (NO DLC)

Introducing Day Number 09, the ’Deliverance’ - Expeditionary Colony Ship

“With our path laid before us we descended on the planet below in search of answers, and long lost friends. Upon our arrival we soon set up a vantage point to scout the surface for any clues to the location of the signal’s source - launching teams across the tundra to find any signs of life. Along our journey we found long dead machinations of unknown origins, old wooden structures that resembled monuments to great heroes, and in a sheltered valley, a winter village long since abandoned and buried in snow…

Upon our inspection of this settlement, we found the signal to be coming from nearby; something buried a short distance away. We began excavation and finally saw what was calling out: the remains of the Distant Mirage, the advanced team’s reconnaissance craft. We looked through the terminals for any hints as to where the crew may have gone, and thankfully there was - a message left behind with the signal in case we ever found you again.

It read:

“If you are reading this, you likely endured the same trip we did to get here. We are unsure as to what exactly occurred, but believe it to be the work of an artefact formerly in our possession that has since vanished. Our colonial team were supposed to be following a few months behind, but have not arrived in the years we have spent here, this either means they did not survive, or time on the light side of the rift moves faster than the dark due to the extreme shift in mass.

As time went on, the planet grew colder and colder and now it is unable to sustain human life, so we have moved to safer lands: an Earthlike situated closer to the sun that we are starting a new colony on. To anyone who may find this, if you are looking to survive and coexist peacefully, we offer you refuge, and to Lisa if you are the one to find this, I love you more than you will ever know, and hope to see you again soon.
