Basic Guide (WIP)
By Dolem Legate
So far there isn't really a guide, So I thought I'd start one just because I'm enjoying the basic premise of the game. There may be errors or even wrong information as I've never made a guide before.

Basic Controls
Controls:
Movement:
You move using WASD and you CAN RUN USING SHIFT.

Actions:
Left Click : Attack button. You can cycle what fire mode your laser will use by clicking on "LASER:" at the top of your screen once you have purchased the Crystal Fabricator building. You cannot move while attacking but only in between shots.

Right Clicking : will harvest all resources in all directions around you. The range of collection seems to be dependent on how far your flashlight reaches. Harvesting will freeze your character in place for roughly 2 seconds so be wary of use in combat situations.

Interface
Interface:Much of the interface isn't explained some things must be directly clicked on while other items are non responsive at least initially.

Radar : The Radar window is opened by clicking this option or pressing R. I recommend opening and closing this frequently as the radar tends to have display errors where wrong information will be displayed or clutter the display. Closing and reopening seems to be a reliable method of clearing these errors.

Construct : The base construction Menu is opening by clicking this option or pressing B. The building are not really sorted by unlock order so make sure to pay attention to what each building does and where it is at or you will miss important early construction Buildings and end up slowing down your game play unnecessarily .

ON TOP : This is toggleable and will either keep this game visible over all other windows or will allow it to be placed in the background while still running.

Power Mode :
This toggles between active and Idle play mode.
Low power : Your base will not be actively raided and it is safe to let the game idle.
Medium Power : Your base will attract active monster attacks. If you haven't stayed on top of cleaning our the monster nests that spawn you will be quickly over run in the early game stages. It also seems that this increases the frequency of light orb drops but I'm uncertain of this at this time.
High Power : I have not reached this part of the game yet but I presume it unleashes hell on earth given the effects of Medium power mode.

Laser:
Once you build the Crystal Fabricator building you will be able to cycle between three laser modes by clicking directly on this. Each projectile fired by the rifle does the same damage no matter the mode until the laser is upgraded by purchasing the Empowered Laser (Laser Research Facility). However the Modes have an effect on the fire rate, Accuracy, Range, and number of projectiles fired.
1. Rifle - Accurate, medium fire rate long range, single projectile fired at a set rate.
2. Sprayer - Wildy inaccurate, High fire rate, Medium Range, Single projectile fired at a set rate.
3. Shot Spray - Shotgun pattern, Medium fire Rate, Low Range, 5 Projectiles fired in a cone pattern.

Options :
Opens the game control menu. (However the pin to top function is not in this menu)
Load / Save : 20 save slots available.
Quit : Obvious.
Music Fx : Toggle-able, No slider.
Sound Fx : Toggle-able, no slider.
Autosave : Toggle-able, unclear what save interval is used.
New game : Not yet used.

Journal :
Mostly a help manual that gives information about game play, However the MY CAMP section is a useful display of more detailed information about your base.
MY CAMP : Displays your current health and laser power. How long each creature in your base takes to spawn a harvest-able light orb and how much each orb can be worth, and how much pollution you currently have.
- Light Generation : The average number of seconds it takes for animals to attract light orbs. Light pollution increases this number but it can be lowered with certain buildings.
- Light Value : The Value of every light orb collected will fall between this range. Larger creatures create more valuable orbs.
Game play basics
You have crash landed on a dark planet after being attacked by "FIRETRAPS" on the surface. You must build up a base to survive, fight off waves of monsters that want your light, build a new star ship, and destroy the FIRETRAPS so you don't get shot down again.

Basics mechanics :
Light attracts friendly creatures and friendly creatures attract light orbs which you can use to upgrade your base.
You can check the MY CAMP section in the journal to see your current generation stats. But basically:
More light = more creatures = more light orbs.
More Pollution = slower light orb generation per creature.

You must also build a Scrap Processing Facility (Listed as IMPROVED PRODUCTION under the Factories row in the build menu) to obtain building materials. (Ostensibly by processing your crashed ship into limitless supply slowly. Once you build this building you will generate one scrap per second.

Currencies:
In order to build more buildings you must have sufficient currency in one of the games 5 currencies:
Scrap
Light
Trecolo scraps (Little flowers that grow in your base after you reach a certain point.)
Unknown purple things (I haven't gotten this far yet.)
Unknown Yellow things (I haven't gotten this far yet. )

Every building and upgrade creates pollution, and uses power. You will also need to build sufficient storage to afford each building.
You cannot remove buildings once they are created and you do not appear to have control over location of buildings locations outside of when they are built, This can have an effect when it comes to building your droid factories as the droids must travel from their respective buildings when they are destroyed.

You do not regenerate health in the early stages of the game. Nor are there any pick up items that regenerate health. You must get to a sufficient point in the game progression to build the Trecolo Research facility and then a root vent in order to heal your character. However there doesn't appear to be any punishment for death so this isn't a terrible thing.

Thanks for the guide. In particular, I thought the scrap processing facility would turn my scrap into other stuff, so I didn't build it and was miserable - knowing that it instead created scrap helped a lot!

This guide is an active work in progress, I will add to it as I play through the game.
