This mod adds the Kūrag ("Forge" in Middle Persian), a new unique building for Scythia. A unique building for a nomadic civ? Yes, you heard that right. The Scythians were famous for their horse archery, but also their metallurgy. While mostly living nomadically, permanent settlements arose around forges set up near metal deposits. There, Scythians would make intricate jewelry from copper and gold for personal status as well as trade, often found in the rich burial sites of Kurgans. Metal belts were a defining characteristic of Scythian fashion. Further, they forged high-quality weapons from bronze and later iron for their raids, on which in return they picked up knowledge about more advanced metalworking techniques and ornamental patterns to copy.
  • Replaces the Granary.
  • Unlocked at Bronze Working instead of Pottery.
  • Higher production cost.
  • +1 Housing instead of +2.
  • +2 Production instead of Food.
  • +1 Gold to Mines over Resources in this city.

Requires Rise & Fall because I used some elements from the Ikanda for the model.

Is this compatible with c&p domestic trade bonuses from the new moders pass iteration?

Walls cannot be bought with Gold but Valletta still enables Faith-buying them. Will check and fix the Gold purchase issue ASAP.

Very nice! :) It's delightful to see Scythia getting puffed a bit.

I tested this briefly alongside Scythia Redux by Comrade Noot. Couple notes:

> Mods mentioned are compatible with eachother
> Kurag cannot be bought with Gold (currently this is not mentioned in description)
> Building Abu Simbel grants Kurag

Do you know if one can buy Kurag with Faith when being the Suzerain of Valletta? Or is the mod coded so that the Kurag cannot be bought at all and must always be Produced?

Hi JNR,
your mod has been translated by Junky into German and the translation is now part of the German translations for Civilization VI mods mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

i think the right word to use would have been 'exploit', as the kurag's production bonus is doubled when going for the first rush against an enemy civ when you consider that any amount of light cavalry scythians produce are doubled.

Not sure how it would allow abusing the ability? It's not like we're going back to the horse economy, lol. The extra production and purchase power for light cavalry is intended. In principle a strong ability, Scythia isn't quite at the top of the domination civs anymore due to stronger ones having been released. This helps them a bit to catch up again.

lowkey makes their ability much easier to abuse.

This is a lovely addition, the Scythian Civ looks a bit bare compared to other civs
