A possible fix for problems when launching the game
By Tums®
With the new 1.5 update for Teardown, a problem seems to have been introduced that prevents you from well, playing the game. In this guide, I talk about how you might be able to fix it, and what lead up to me finding out the issue.

How did we get here?
If you just want to hear about the fix then skip to the second paragraph, this is just an account of what was going on before I fixed anything.

So I launched Teardown the other day and played it like normal for a little while, but strangely trying to boot certain maps would crash my game. It was a little weird but I didn't think much of it at the time. I then booted up a map, Highway with AI Traffic, and while it played like normal, I also noticed the performance was certainly worse than any other time I played the map before. I mess with my mods to see if that would help and then I restart the game, only to have the game open windowed to a black screen and in another window, the 32x console was open. It was blank, and after a few seconds it and the game closed.

I thought it was really weird, and considering the fact I downloaded a few things recently (outside of Steam) I was concerned that they may have done something. I shut off my computer, had a nap and when I came back online to edit a video, I noticed that my software was telling me my GPU wasn't being recognized. I thought it was weird cause I never had problems with it before, so after making sure the windows update didn't break anything or that there was something going on with AMD (There wasn't) I went into my settings and found that my graphics card was DISABLED.
The Fix (maybe)
So, if you're having this exact same issue, you can try this; go to your computers Settings, search Device Manager and open it.

You should have a window open that looks kind old. This will list every device connected to your computer, as well as other information that might be useful when encountering hardware issues. Either way, you want to find where your graphics card is. For me, it's under a tab that's labeled "Display Adapters" but if it isn't there, you can try poking around a little. Click on the name of your GPU twice and it should open up another small window.

This is the properties screen. You can see the status of the device here. If yours is disabled, click the button that says Enable. Afterwards, it will likely tell you that the device is connected but not working properly. If it reconnects without any errors, well lucky you! This is where you can stop reading. But if you aren't so lucky, you'll have to uninstall the device. You won't be taking apart your computer or anything, you just need to press a few buttons and then restart your computer afterwards and it should be fine.

Since you'll need to restart your computer in a few minutes, I would save everything you're doing now :)

Okay, so once you're good, all you have to do is click up at the top where it says "Driver" and then click "Uninstall Device." A page will pop up warning you that you're about to uninstall the device No ♥♥♥♥ but anyways you'll just want to click uninstall. Do NOT uninstall the driver software. I don't know what happens if you do but it probably isn't good.

Once you've uninstalled the device, just restart your computer (Or shut it down if you're done) and congratulations! You probably just fixed your game and can now do anything that requires your GPU again! If it still isn't working after this I would go back to the device manager and make sure that your graphics card was automatically reinstalled and enabled like mine was after I rebooted everything.

You did it! Maybe. I have no doubt in my mind that you were able to fix this on your own, so hooray! Now you can go back to toppling Lee's towers and Grinding Gordon's villa into powder! Here's some complimentary screenshots to celebrate your success.

Well that's all! If you want to see more Teardown screenshots, I'll have some uploaded on my profile. If this helped you let me know. If this destroyed your entire computer, I never uploaded this guide and never even heard of a Teardown before. Goodbye.
