Welcome to my guide!
Let me guess, you finally won that Minesweeper boss, and after playing for a while, you encountered another roadblock: Chinese Chess. Well, my friend, do not worry; this method will guarantee you a win 100%.

This might be considered cheesing, so if you want to learn actual Chinese Chess and play fair, be my guest. This guide is for those who just want to keep playing without watching a half-hour video on a new form of chess.
Preparation
  • Step 1

We want to find an online platform to play Chinese Chess with a computer. In my case i used Xiangqi.com. You do not need an account just click on 'Play Now!'

  • Step 2

Select 'Play Computer' and it should give you a list with different difficulty levels for the game, in this case we want to use the hardest dificulty, that being Hu (Level 10).

  • Step 3

Now, this is very important. The game will ask you to choose a side, we ALWAYS want to choose Black.

Most of you probably caught up on what's the idea (specially yakuza fans lol), but if you did not get the gist of the guide:

What we will be doing is copying the Computer movements in the online game and replicating them in the boss fight to completily annihilate it.

So TLDR; We have two Xiangqi games at the same time.
  • Red (Player Ingame) copying Red (Online Computer)
    vs
  • Black (Player Online) copying Black (Boss Ingame)
Execution
I will not go into detail since I believe games are randomized, but here are some example steps on how you should do it:

The computer will 100% always start with this movement, just copy the same in the game

One thing I did not mention before is that, in the game, boss plays are instant. If you are not paying attention, you will probably miss the action they just did. In these cases, I try to see which pieces are missing from the initial placement. Like in the last screenshot, you can see the top left piece was moved.

Alright, back to the game. The boss will move a piece at the same time you moved yours. In my case, it was what should be the tower in normal chess. Copy that movement in our online game, like this:

That's it! Just repeat until you lose in the online game to the computer.

PS. In Xiangqi.com the game ends on the checkmate, in the boss fight you actually need to capture the king, so don't forget to do that final movement!

Thank you for reading!
Hope this guide helped you continuing and hopefully beating this beautiful game.

See ya at the Mahjong parlor!
