Sniper bots (or bots in general) have been one of the biggest problems in TF2 since the beggining. They are either players who spend money on websites that will provide them with an applicattion that does their work for them and play the game as a sniper, that will automatically kill anyone in sight. Or they can also be one single person that has made or bought many accounts to use them as bots.

There are many types of bots, the ones that do it to annoy players, such as crash bots or music bots. And then there are the ones that do it for the loot, kill, progression and etc. But either way they will make your life a living hell. So that's when I came up with the idea to do this guide, because some types of bots will quit the server after being killed once or more times, I still have no idea why this happens. (Please note that not all bots will quit after being killed)

This method is the one I least recommend due to it's difficulty. The way it works is you will use the combination of a sentry (to kill the sniper) and a dispenser (to keep you with full metal and keep the sentry alive), that way, you'll be able to ambush the sniper bot in a small and closed area.

Bots tend to circulate around the enemy spawn, at the objective, or primarily where most people are dying. Therefore, you will have to find a small and closed area, preferably next to the spawn. There you will build a dispenser and sentry, work on getting the sentry to level 2, then the dispenser to the next levels, and if possible, get the sentry to level 3. Although there is a high chance a bot will appear before you manage to do that. Remember to stay away from the entrances to that area, that way the bot will focus on shotting the sentry instead of you, and if necessary you will be able to get metal from the dispenser and heal the sentry. If everything's performed correctly the bot will be ambushed by the sentry and will be killed.

Some more advanced types of bots have a system that knows exactly where are the sentries in the map and their range, and will evict them. So keep that in mind.

The way this method works is you will use the Dead Ringer as a shield to survive two shots and then backstab the bot as fast as possible. This method also requires experience as a spy and may be quite difficult to perform, it also all depends on what type of bot you're going against, it depends on what rifle they are using, and if the bot is programmed to switch to a melee weapon when a player is near (as those tend to look at their target instead of aimlessly looking at the sky or at a wall).

As soon as you spawn you want to right click and get your Dead Ringer ready, once one of the bots see you, they will shoot you and it will be activated, after that happens you will still be able to survive one more shot (as long as you don't have Conniver's Kunai or Big Earner equipped), immediatly after you get shot for the first time you will want to get as close to the bot as possible and position yourself behind them, ready for the backstab, once they shoot you for the second time you will want to uncloack as fast as possible, and spam the attack button, if done succefully the bot will instantly die.

As mentioned before, it is very important you don't have Conniver's Kunai or the Big Earner equipped, otherwise you will only be able to survive one of the bot's shots.

This is on my opinion the best yet method of killing bots, yet it requires two people (and communication), a pair of heavy and medic. The medic will be using the vaccinator and the heavy will be using any minigun (with the exception of the brass beast due to it's slow fire rate). The medic will use the bullet protection passive and uber to make the heavy able to survive some of the bot's shots.

The medic will prepare all of his 4 ubers before leaving the spawn, once he does, he will be healing/protecting the heavy and with the bullet protection passive. Due to the fact that the second a bot sees any of you it will shoot immediately, you will need to be quick and as soon as the heavy takes a shot (he will survive because of the bullet protection) you will use your ubercharge, and before it ends the bot will probably already be dead, if not use another uber.

For the heavy, he will have to proceed in front of the medic at all times, so the bots focus on him and not the medic, even if they do, the medic will survive if with the bullet protection uber activated. Note that you will also have to keep rotating your guns at all times in case a bot appears out of nowhere, even if that means decreasing your speed.

Bots are still a problem, and will always be as it seems that Valve has pretty much given up on fixing it, even after a major update where they claimed to "have fixed the problem", it doesn't really seem like it did anything. But while Valve doesn't do anything, we'll just have to find our ways to beat them, and meanwhile that we can always remember there's still the votekick option, which we all know won't work sometimes due to the high numbers of bots and small numbers of players in matchs.
