Netricsa Rework

Beschreibung
This project originally started out fixing grammatical mistakes left behind by Croteam on their NETRICSA entries but I instead decided to edit ALL of the entries.

It always bothered me how inconsistent the writing felt between TFE and TSE - so I made it my goal to better connect both games and make the writing feel less jarring.

I have done a good-enough job creating consistency with both games whilst adding my own spin to it. These new entries will appear more straightforward and informative, with hints of dry humour.

In short, I have fixed mistakes and better worded the entries from TFE. As for TSE, I have "sucked the life" out of the logs by removing the zany humour to create a more coherent writing tone to bridge the gap between both games.

And before you ask, yes I'm already aware I am very fun at parties.

WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO?

  • All NETRICSA data entries you unlock from playing TFE and TSE have been changed.

    - Weapons
    - Enemies
    - Locations
    - Hints

  • Every article has had grammar mistakes fixed and descriptions reworked.

  • Many logs have been extended, lore from Serious Sam 3 & Serious Sam 4 has been carefully included to better connect all games together.

  • Some articles have been rewritten from the ground-up, mostly TSE entries.

  • This mod does NOT edit the demo levels or Legend of the Beast entries.

INSTALLATION

I think it would've been more fun to try to transplant TSE's writing style into TFE lol

Okay! no worries

Actually i discovered it overwrites the enemy entries on its own leaving the other entries intact, but thanks anyway for the information.

If you want to keep the entries from that mod instead, you can just delete the files for the beheaded enemies (or any enemy really) from my mod.

Just find it in your mod folder and the beheaded enemies are called "rocketman", "bomberman" and "firecracker" - if you delete my files, it *should* use the other mod's files in its place.

ok so i finally discovered what happened. I was testing a bfe mod that turned gave arachnoids from the bfe ultimate enermy resouce physical bullets instead of hitscan ones. One of the mods that is required is the hd ultimatge enemy resource that overwrites the enemy descriptions while leaving the other netricsa entries, the ones from your mod, intact.

This is the default description for the rocketeer:

"An executed Sirian soldier, raised from the dead by Mental and remote controlled by Life Control Unit (LCU).
The Rocketeer carries his own head in one hand to receive audio/visual information and fires one magic missile at a time from a low-power hand-held launcher. They're immune to their own missiles."

If your rocketeer description doesn't match this one before installing NR then yeah you've got another netricsa mod running, the other beheaded articles are very similar to the rocketeer one.

Really? Then it's possible I might have have downloaded another mod like you said though I'm not sure, I'll have to check later.

Do you have any other Netricsa mods? because the original description for the rocketeer in TFE/TSE didn't have any information regarding why they were different from the BFE rocketeer.

My rocketeer log (and other beheaded enemies) are quite similar to the original, it's one of the articles I didn't edit too much other than grammatical and better wording.

a small example is the beheaded rocketeer, when I first downloaded the mod netricsa had information regarding why they are different from their bfe counterparts plus other details, now it's just similar to the original description. I'm not sure what could have caused this.
