Hello everyone, and welcome to my first Shadowrun UGC content page. Though, it may seem odd to you when you realize this content is focused more around the story of Ghost in the Shell, rather than Shadowrun. First, let me explain why I decided to create this content.

I participated in an 8 week challenge to build a virtual slice of a larger campaign, with fleshed out gameplay and dialogue. Rather than create a Shadowrun campaign (about which I knew little of the Shadowrun universe at the time), I wanted to further challenge myself by creating a campaign based off of another universe that I adored: Ghost in the Shell. Now, the art styles and stories are vastly different, but the overall cyberpunk feel and actual content and mechanics work well together.

For many of you, this just won't be something you are interested in and I can't blame you for not trying it out. It is also relatively short with an estimated half hour of gameplay time. Believe me when I say I invested a lot more hours into it than that!

If you have any interest in Ghost in the Shell or want to try something a bit different, please be my guest and try the campaign out!

It is a bit dialogue heavy, which I apologize for. I had to squeeze as much content and story in as I could, since I wanted to build not only levels, but a working narrative.

ive just started it so i'll see how it goes. i subbed to its dependent content, opened the game, clicked content from the main menu and then clicked play.

Anyone trying to get it to work in 2021, You gotta find the files and extract them into a different folder. Mine was in, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\my own user number\234650\local\ugc\305430212\contentpacks\53b67260633035cc81000f56-ghost in the shell source of a soul.cpz you take that .cpz file and extract it (I use 7zip, which can apparently extract this file type, but you can always rename it a .zip or .rar) to your steamapps\common\Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks folder which is the same folder the main campaign sits in and then the campaign will launch in game. It appears to work. The only thing I'm unsure of is if you have to do this for any of the other required files. Some of them appear to work when just subscribing, but at least one of the other required files mentions following this type of steps to get it to work.

I got the game to at least start - by downloading all the subscribed items first - then running Shadowrun Returns, and picking New Game

So if it wont run for you, try subscribing to the other content that this mod depends on

Unfortunately, not functional in 2021. It seems like it was a true labor of love, but that's the way it goes. 7 years is retrogaming these days, with all the low stakes gambling that entails.
