Intro
If you came to this guide, it must mean you are having a little trouble on farming dinks, or spend them way too fast. Or even you just wanting more dinks to add to your stash. Well, you've come to the right place! Here are some useful tips that I find useful to help improve my little town's economy.
Permit Points
Of course, you are gonna need a license for this. We'll dive into which one later, but for now? What about permit points? Well, I've got your back. Easy ways to farm Permit Points include:
  • doing daily tasks
  • exploring around your island
  • doing requests for people (There is a milestone for that too)
    and
  • catching bugs or fishing
  • accomplishing more milestones (farming not recommended)

I did not recommend farming because we all know that it is a tedious task to do. As someone who always forgets about watering the plants, I say that it is not a good idea as it takes a lot of time and effort. Certainly not something I would enjoy doing. Once you have enough Permit Points, (1700 minimum) head to The Town Hall to get your licenses in order.
Getting your licenses in order
Now, I say, head to your Town Hall and talk to Fletch. Apply for a license, and once greeted with the screen to choose your license, select the Trapping License. You will unlock the trapping license when you get the hunting license, if you don't know. Upgrade it to level 2. If you are wondering why I chose level 2 instead of 1, it's because level 2 has upgraded and better traps. This will assist a lot in the next steps.
How you actually get dinks
Diggo

I usually trap the diggos because they are the easiest ones to catch. You simply lay down the trap ( switch to trap then hold down left mouse button) when it is sitting. For this you will get 4,400 dinks per dog. Rare patterned diggos sell for the same price.
Birds

You can also trap birds (idk the name) you stun the bird using the flashlight (switch to flashlight and hold left mouse button) then you quickly lay down the trap. Put the trap next to your flashlight tool for quicker access. You have to do it fast because the stun effect will wear off. Both types of birds sell for 4,000 dinks, making them cheaper than the diggo.
Turkeys

You can also catch scrub turkeys. You catch them similarly to the birds, stun them using the torch and place the animal trap down.

You can actually trap all animals using the stun torch method, so in the next sections I will be including the selling price, behaviour and location of all of them instead of the ways on how to trap them.

Note: Alphas, grubs, sharks, fish (obviously) and pincher plants cannot be captured.
Note II: For hostile enemies, you need to decrease their health at least 30% before being captured, or you can just place the collection point nearby. If you are using the simple trap, then you have to decrease their heath by 50% first. This goes the same with defensive animals if you use the simple trap.
