EA Launcher is truly a boat load of @ss.
...\Dragon Age II\bin_ship
and opening DragonAge2.exe directly. It opened a window I had never seen that asked me to sign into origin (which is weird cause to my knowledge origin is gone). I put my login creds for the EA launcher and launched!
I did have the EA launcher closed at the time, though steam was open. Didnt seem to start the EA launcher at all.
Hope this works for other people cause it seems to have worked for me.
What I do to start the game is to have the launcher completely closed and launch the game so that EA starts at the same time, this in theory would make da2 start if this were not the case, close the launcher completely and repeat until it starts.
I also saw that some have a problem with the EA overlay that causes DA2 to not start either. You could try to disable it, it seems to work for some but I didn't check it because I used the method in the guide.
