By Zola and 1 collaborators
After 70+ hours of playtime, reading excel spreadsheets and doing trial and error by myself, i have made what I FEEL is the current meta build for Overkill.

Skills

Weapons
VF-7S
The VF-7S has great firerate, great ammo capacity, can one shot heavies and light SWATS to the head just with EDGE, it's only downside is the awful gunkick and bullet spread but that's what attachments are for.

Sforza Bison
The straight upgrade to the revolver as they're near identical, one of the only differences being that the Sforza Bison can one shot heavies and light SWATS to the head just with EDGE compared to the J&M Castigo 44 that requires both EDGE and Cutting shot to do so, only downside being the low ammo capacity (but that goes for all revolvers).

Armor
No reason to bring anything else to Overkill heists since ammo is easily obtainable and medkits can be obtained from trading hostages and health isn't as important as armor is.
OVK Weapon
HET-5 Red Fox
The only real choice for Overkill; Oneshots every unit and two shots dozers to the body, has enough ammo to deal with a bunch of cops and can deal with snipers easily, and the best part, it doesn't kill you like some other Overkill Weapon.
Throwable
Smoke Grenade
We will be relying on Smoke Grenades to deal with dozers, just throw one down at them and they will barely hit you, add the smoke grenade skills on top of that and dozers become a joke. You can also use them when cops start to crowd up.
Tool
Infrasonic Mine
The infrasonic mine is essentially a pocket flashbang, as far as im aware it's not affected by throwable skills but it doesn't lose its merit of being an extra stagger throwable, hear a cloaker coming at you? place it below you and blow it up, ran out of smoke grenades and you are getting ambushed? drop one and blow it up, simple as that.
Explanation for each skill
Ammo Specialist
Necessary to obtain Plate Up, the skill itself is pretty lackluster but having an increased reserve ammo by 20% is a nice bonus.

Scrounger
We will be using our smoke grenades often, Scrounger is the only reliable way to regenerate them without having to bring any ammo bags.

Plate Up
This skill comes in handy to regen our missing armor chunks, since we will have an infinite uptime of GRIT Plate Up will be active at all times whenever we pick up ammo drops.

Mower
This skill is straight up bad, but its a worthy and necessary trade off to obtain Ammo funnel and Replenish, which justify the point spent on it.

Ammo Funnel
Ammo Funnel will allow you to have infinite ammo in your magazine since you won't really need to reload unless you want to refresh your GRIT and EDGE.

Replenish
Replenish will synergize with Ammo Funnel to sustain your ammo.

Sprint Loaded
Reloading is something that you will have to do to refresh your GRIT and EDGE even if you practically have infinite ammo because of Replenish and Ammo Funnel, Therefore being able to move around while doing so will make you less vulnerable and allow you to reposition while you cannot shoot.

Tank
Armor is the best resource in the game since you can only obtain it from armor bags unlike ammo and health, having your chunks replenish faster on top of Plate Up will ensure your survival, as a nice bonus you get 2 extra plates on your armor bag increasing your survivability even further.

Extra Plates
Having more plates will always come in handy allowing you and your team to survive for longer.

Armor Up
This skill is a must have for any OVK build in this game, being able to make your armor bag last twice as much will benefit you and your team in the long run.

Sharpshooter
Your main source for EDGE, all you have to do is ADS.

Long Shot
Long Shot will make it so that no matter the distance you will always be able to one shot to the head.

Speed Aim
Since we will be using ADS instead of hipfire for this build, Speed Aim is a must have.

Escapist
Main source of RUSH. Increasing your speed will help you in many situations and help you to get to cover quickly.

Swift
A little bit of extra speed never hurt anyone.

Enforcer
Main source of GRIT. A little bit harder to attain than RUSH or EDGE since you have to be in close quarters and have to cops surrounding you to proc it but once you have it you can have an infinite uptime with Combat Reload.

Quick Reload
We don't want to be reloading often because we are vulnerable when doing so and we will almost always have a full magazine because of Ammo Funnel and Replenish, so reducing said time window will increase our survival.

Combat Reload
One of the staples of this build, with it you will be able to keep an infinite uptime of both EDGE and GRIT allowing you to perform well in any OVK heist.

Spare points
I know that this build might not be for everyone as every player has their on playstyle and there might be some things that people might like or not like sprint reloading, therefore i have made a template[pd3.gg] that only uses what i feel are the mandatory skills to run for this build and leaves you with a whopping 10 spare skill points to move around at your own leisure, maybe you like a hipfire build, maybe you want to invest into shotgun skills even more, try it out!
Improvements
This build is subjective to my little knowledge about the game so far, if anyone knows far better than me then feel free to let me know of anything that could be improved about this build in any way and i'll give it a look!

yeah well dude either didnt play around release or is clueless but dont listen to him, actually was a really cool build. A144 and Scar felt both really amazing to play at release.

Then feel free to make a guide of your own with what's best to current date since you seem to know so much about the game. As for me i have no time nor interest in updating this one as of right now.

I'm not talking about the purple one, I'm talking about the blue one (pre-update), like I said before, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Just so you understand, removing the purple armor, the one that is in second place right now is that it has 2 armor slots, due to the fact that it takes less time to recover.

Perhaps because this build has not been updated? I thought that was obvious but it seems you're not smart enough to figure that out from what i've said so far?
Spanish Pingu 10 May @ 8:17am
No, you still have no idea what you're talking about, the best armor is the 2-piece, simply because of the recovery time it has.

Also, smoke grenade? Obviously this is troll

I know what im talking about because this build is from prior to the update that added adrenaline and made light and adaptive the best armors :)

Heavy ballistic? You don't have any idea of what you are talking about

I'm still chewing through the current update to see what might be best

Question if you still play and care about PAYDAY 3: With the new update adding 7 more skill points, what could you possibly put those in that would work?
