_Nemez_'s Metropolice Force [Remaster+Playermodel]

Beskrivning
_Nemez_'s Metropolice Force: The Remaster

Hello there, this is West, Stranger or WstStranger. I debut out of nowhere to bring a small project I made for fun and as a challenge.

In origin, a more militarized/spec ops looking Civil Protection/Metropolice, quite ideal for outland enviroments. The addon is a great addition to the workshop amongst the other Civil Protection models, but it could be better. So, I decided to step in and tinker on the idea. Consider it a love letter to that piece of work and a showcase of my attention to detail. Mix and match in your liking.

The models you get:

NOTICE: Models without extra underscores (EX: _pose, _pm, _npc, etc) are roleplay ready ragdolls.

Nemez's original skin model, maintaining the original model's fidelity. +2 Playermodel variants based on viemodel hands.

West's new retexture showcase and experimental features version (Regular metrocop, plus non camo khaki, olive and winter skins). Includes a patch bodygroup.

Notable features
  • Remade model from the ground up with the same assets, given a better adaptation of body parts.
  • Modified/added specular and exponent masks on Grom parts.
  • Added many bodygroups, both options and new things. Such include: Mask goggles/eyes, hip mounted magazines, boots, gloves, the vest itself and added some hoodie options. You can now make an actual unarmored/off duty appearance (Note: You may need to move more than one bodygroup for certain appearances, as easier organization would mean exponentially higher polygon count)
  • Improved textures for customability, as for example removing decals on the normal maps and patches on my diffuse maps. Material shading has been optimized by restoring backface culling thanks to having little to no gaps on the model.
  • Non destructive NPC hand rigging. What it means is that; despite the model being 3 finger rigged (and it was hell), it can easily be set back into a 5 fingered rig. Not the perfect solution, but achieves the result most of the time (Feature on RP Models only!).
  • A crapload of jigglebones.
  • Many other minor improvements/revisions that you may or may not notice.

Made for modders
A part of this remaster's purpose is to improve moddability. So, like the original model, you are free to do any modifications to it without the need of crediting (obviously don't make a blatant reupload).
In addition, here[drive.google.com] you can access my modding assets, such as my qc and smd files, along with my retexturing templates and some information on this work. Not many do that, so consider it a godsend on my part. However, I hold high standards to my works, and I will hold high standards to any derivative from it. In the case you decide to do something with it, I expect you to:

  1. Make your additions to the model in high quality, as in make it feel like it's part of the model. Not making it look like it was copypasted into the addon without care for fitment, storage or performance impact. I tried to compress this as much as possible to not be an absolute burden to servers that may use this. Try to focus in utility/tacticool rather than pure (subjective) Rule Of Cool.
  2. Not adding the trenchcoat (Or RL skirt as I call it). You need extensive work to make it look good and move swell, which means most probably making it from scratch. I can't stop what will pretty much happen, though. But if you manage to do it well, you have my disgust and my respect.
  3. Having fun with your modding. Take your time, do it well. People will like your stuff more as a result.

To do list (In priority):
  • Overhaul the entire addon. I have learned so much in a year that I want to bring even better stuff. May be a separate addon, may not be.
  • NPC and replacement variations. Hold yourselves for a bit as I get this to a state I would call stable from more changes/improvements.
  • Remaking the original addon's textures (for fun!), so to bring even better quality.
  • Custom rappeling anims (unlikely, but gonna try for fun).
  • Add more cool and functional looking masks with their deserved perfect fit and optimization.

Perfection is not enough. Go beyond it.

Credits
_Nemez_: Original creator of Metropolice Force Addon, adding variety to the Civil Protection representations on many servers. Curator.
WstStranger: Modeling, porting, materials, rigging, etc etc... Pretty much everything development wise.
Also those credited for the original work.

Enjoy the addon, consider liking, favoriting and maybe following me in some way... I have on my mind making much more than just a single good addon.

If yall are still impatient just use model manipulator tool to use these models to replace the regular CP models to NPCS!

I kind of grabbed from this addon: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1243624080 (Probably, my memory is not the best at times) and modded the model in Blender a bit for those shots.
