"Banned for sharing my experience of ZP not working on Linux Mint, and that I believe it is due to bad programming on Magic Pixel's part. I see they have time to at least read posts, but no time to actually fix the myriad bugs in their software."

I just went to look at the post that got me banned(I included the link in this thread), and I noticed that they deleted my comments in that thread. Magic Pixel finally fixed the issue of not being able to play on Linux/Steam Deck with an AMD card, after more than two years. I'm still getting errors in my Terminal but at least it's finally playable. Here are a few lines from my terminal...

You don't need to delete comments; just clarify, or adjust future comments to correct any errors you may have made. We all make mistakes, or notice problems at our own pace. It's more important to get where you need to be than it is how long it takes. Though, taking too long has it's own issues...

And to prove it, I'm deleting all comments from your profile defending the Zaccaria mods.

I believe @Pinballwi45b, you're referring to the Postal release(Sept. 5, 22), which was released after they'd stopped fixing bugs. They were still 'updating' the software, technically, if that's what you mean, but, when I mentioned updates, I was referring to repairing broken aspects of the game.

If you're referring to Bug Fixes, according to Magic Pixel, the last was in 2021....~>

@Pinballwiz45b; You're a little vague there. What did you fix?
Sorthious  [author] 27 Sep, 2023 @ 3:32pm
It's pretty much moot at this point though, as Magic Pixel hasn't updated this software since 2021. So, it will remain broken, at least to Linux/Steam Deck users.

Well @Pinballwiz45b, Steam Deck and my OS are both built off of a Linux Kernel, and likely run similar drivers. That it doesn't work on either platform now seems as if the problem lies within Magic Pixels programming, which seems to be the problem. This is the only app on Steam that I've had an issue with that runs Natively on Linux. As far as me sounding rude, maybe I do. After numerous attempts to get the developers to fix issues and getting no response, it sometimes takes being blunt, or rude as you may see it, to get their attention. I'm not name calling, as others do, but I'm not going to sugar-coat, or cover for developers not doing their jobs.

@Fake News Fredo....It's not really off-topic, as Steam Deck is based off of Arch Linux . Yes, Steam Deck isn't a PC, but the underlying OS is based on the Linux Kernel . I simply stated that due to the programming of Magic Pixel, an update/driver for Linux isn't playing nice with Zaccaria Pinball. Yes, I've posted many times about bugs on ZP, including this one, to which, they never responded. Go look at their FAQ for dealing with bugs they created that messed up ZP for AMD GPU's. They want us to roll back drivers, rather than fix the bug. When I first bought it there was a bug with graphics artifacts that made most tables unplayable; it affected AMD users back then as well. It took them, iirc, like 6-months to fix it. Now, they've given up on fixing the bugs. If nobody complains, nothing will get fixed. Regardless, Magic Pixel hasn't had an update since 2021, so I don't see them fixing anymore bugs; they're off making pinball machines for AtGames.

Steam has been getting ridiculously strict with what you can post on peoples profiles and or community threads, They hit me with a community ban until 2039 earlier this year all because I commented on a few peoples profiles trying to trade some TF2 items, Luckily i got it resolved otherwise my account would of been completely useless, They said it was because of a "Similar Scam" going around, Ever since then I just dont even post in threads anymore or comment on peoples profiles
