Tips and Tricks
Upgrade whatever you can, create new armor and weapons. It greatly aids in dealing damage, especially the weaponry. Use alt against monsters to your advantage. Staying with them and doing an alt-dodge in their direction every one to two hits will keep them stunned.

Perform side quests. Questing offers you more EXP than any other activity, and while Death March difficulty only gives you 80% of the usual EXP, you can easily make up the difference by doing some side quests. It will be much easier to deal with an enemy who is not out leveling you.

Active Shield will protect you from harm, stun foes, and heal you. Quen is largely responsible for the Death March's manageability. Get all three ranks of Quen’s Active Shield upgrade.

Save Frequently.

You can typically get away with three quick attacks before the adversary regains composure and launches more attacks by dodging attacks, which gives you frames and makes it simpler to launch a counterattack.

Dodge. Do not roll.

They burn more effectively the larger they are. Even if Igni isn't the best spell for every foe, some enemies, particularly those with huge health reserves, are particularly susceptible to damage-over-time effects. Consider striking it with Igni if it isn't fire-resistant or immune, and if it does catch fire, stand there and let the DoT handle it.

Go for yen.
