This is it!
Just hear me out. Want to get a lot of achievements at the same time with just 1 run? Try Thief.

  • Get only daggers (Ebony dagger is my main choice because the damage scales the more you kill stuff). But get only 6 daggers. (You get the Edgy and the Less is More achievements that way).
  • Don't get more than 6 weapons ever (when you gotta replace a dagger for a higher tier one, first sell the one you currently have and then buy the new one).
  • Max out Range & Lifeleech. Trust me. Luck is always a top choice to get better weapons from time to time.
  • Buy a LOOOT of small stuff. Remember that each item gives you attack speed and this build is all about DPS. Coins, rings, clocks, gauntlets, lanterns (oh god yes, lanterns!) everything small gives you a boost in atk speed and that's the key to this.

You get a few more achievements if you reach the correct amount of range, lifeleech and luck. You also get achievements for standing still without moving, getting hit a lot, heal a lot with lifeleech and even level up 5 times in a floor.

EDIT:

Since a few of you asked, I'll share a bit more insights on this build.

- Last time I ran this build I got to 578 atk speed and 40 range. At that point, nothing can reach you before you kill them with your daggers. I only had to avoid the bullet hell that came from wind swords and elite bosses bullets until I had enough lifeleech to just stay there and heal my received damage.

- Why Ebony Daggers? They get 1% more damage for every 20 kills on each dagger. (Tier 4 get 1% damage for every 15 kills!) You can see here my top tier ebony dagger by my endgame with 2.9k dps. The more you kill with this, the more damage you get for next levels!

- Have in mind that if you get many Ebony Daggers you got less room for tiny items that give you the-much-needed atk speed. Also you share the amount of kills between daggers so the less you have the better damage gain they have for each level.

EDIT #2:

So I've read a few other guides and noticed that I didn't put much effort in this guide. No screenshots (and that's a huge visual help!) and also I was not pushing me to do my best when I thought of this build.

So I tried to run a difficulty 5 run with just 3 ebony daggers...

And failed. LOL

But I did it with just 4 ebony daggers and it was so much fun!

So here we go (With screenshots and all!)

Here you can see my core build. Just 4 ebony daggers, that's all my damage, and just a bunch of items to get to that desired atk speed stat. I never got to enough range to kill anything out of my screen range but it was still worth it. You can also see I lvled up 5 times in one floor.

The secret is that you never use other weapons and never too many weapons. The calculation is easy: If you get to kill around 10k monsters in 20 floors, as an average you kill 500 monsters per floor. Then if you have a tier 4 ebony dagger from the start you can get around 33-34%+ damage per floor. If you have a tier 1 ebony dagger, that's just 25%+ per floor. Just so you can compare, this is a clean ebony dagger with 0 kills compared to the tier 4 one I got at the beggining of the game.

So the more weapons you have the less growth your ebony daggers have. I tried with 3 and never got enough damage at the early lvls for me to survive, but just 4, oh boy, it was awesome.

Here you can see my effective range of 40. I would love to have more range but I never got enough range items, so I kinda gave up. You can always add anything valuable to your stats as an item. Lifeleech, melee damage, exp gain, resources, atk speed, range, crit chance, anything is good enough if it's an small item. Forget those boots or those 4-slots-items. You can get 4 times the atk speed you get from that same item and at the end, there's no item that's worth more than more atk speed to this build.

This is my least performing ebony dagger, you can definitely see the growth from the amount of kills + the melee damage items + the atk speed.

At the end I had to go so I kinda forgot to sell all my resource gain items, experience gain items and any other big useless things for the last level, but I still did it.

Check out that dps!

The fun part is that you can go for whatever sub-build you would like with this.

You want to stay on the middle of the screen while you kill stuff? Get a lot of armor and lifeleech, go ahead man.

You want to go Broom Broom and clean everything on your path while you drift the corners of every floor? Go ahead, build as much movement speed as you'd like and go nuts (Also try the lancer with that crazy mov speed build and you'll love it).

There's nothing I haven't tried with this build that wouldn't work. Just try to get the kills around the first levels and focus on small objects that give experience and damage. A way to get around those first floors is to get more barrels, as you don't have enough range to just kill stuff and being safe, if you get barrels you could get those "super mario star" shields and just dash in and kill everything for a few seconds.

I hope you like this guide and If you're down here it means you love this game or have been struggling with it. Either way, you're awesome, keep doing your best and you'll get there. But most importantly: Have fun!

I had no idea! I actually didn't try combining items before since that wasn't a feature when I played this. It should be easier to get to higher grade ebony daggers and more space for more atk spd.
I'll try to do it with 2 or 3 ebony daggers now!

Note that if you combine three ebony daggers of the same level, the upgraded weapon inherits the total kills from all three. So if you'd combined the three tier 1 daggers, you'd have one that was much more potent.

Was an interesting build, I got it to work on the 2nd run. On the 1st I was plagued with a lack of Life leech. Had my range up to 60 which was hilarious.

What kind of armor are you talking about here? FOR WHAT? The last boss is killed in a couple of seconds, and when enemies appear, including mini bosses, they die immediately. Moreover, my firing range is greater than the visibility of the screen. And I don’t even see who I’m killing.

I see A LOT of armor in that build of yours and near 0 lifeleech. Also have in mind any negative values you might be getting from each item. I assume those Ebony daggers are tier 3 or 4, right?

How come you got more than 3k coins and never got to spend that for better items? For the last level ditch any horns (who wants barrels when money isn't worth it for the last level and you got more space for lifeleech or damage?)

Also ditch any item that gives resources or experience gain before the final boss. Not worth it.

Crit chance, crit damage, damage %, melee damage, those are also really good stats to consider before going to the final boss. You have way to much armor and vitality which isn't really needed because you want to hit things hard from afar (that's why the range is awesome).

I'm calling bs on this build.

Here is the simplest and most effective build. The final boss at difficulty level 5 is killed in a FEW seconds.
