How to make a drag glitch

What is a drag glitch?
  • Drag glitch (later DG) is a stormworks bug when one grid of your craft looses all the aerodynamic drag and all sealed spaces of the grid becomes unsealed, so you won't be able to create a custom fuel tank on it and you won't be able to use it on ships.
  • Each grid and subgrid requires a separate DG to loose the drag.
  • This glitch doesnt affect the efficiency of any type of fins or rudders.
  • The easiest way to understand the DG is working is making a sealed volume on the grid (an empty 4x4x4 box etc) with physics flooder. If there is a DG, the box would be made of many physics shapes (F2 colors).
Main red grid DG
Let's assume you already have a craft without DG. To create a dragglitch on the main grid, you should do the following steps:
  • Save your craft.
  • Create a new vehicle.
  • Switch to the selection grid mode.
  • Load your craft from the "Load content" button on the left side of screen.
  • Place your craft near to the "new vehicle" block but dont make them touch each other, there should be a gap.

  • Make a temporary bridge between "new vehicle" block and your craft and weld them together, then delete the temporary bridge. DO NOT delete the "new vehicle" block.

Now the main grid of your craft lost the aerodynamic drag.
Subgrid DG
To create a dragglitch on the subgrid, you should do the following steps:
  • Cut the subgrid or make it away from the craft.
  • Place it near to the pivot or hinge or whatever the thing connecting subgrid to main grid, but dont make them touch each other, there should be a gap.

  • Make a temporary bridge between pivot and subgrid and weld them together, then delete the temporary bridge.

Now the subgrid lost the aerodynamic drag.
Congratulations
Now you know how to make a DG!

For me it works all over the craft as long as its outside of it, when placed inside away from any blocks next to it doesn't work.

but it just doesnt work up front

new vehicle is just the easiest way for me

the overall idea is the craft should be placed after the dg block, play around it, you dont have to use the new vehicle one

new vehicle, paste in mine, and merge it, while keeping the original floating with no attached blocks

i mean, theres not much to do wrong

it does for me weirdly, if placed up front it never worked, once i placed it at the back it started working

the position of the block relative to the craft doesnt matter, the main thing is that it is placed earlier than all other craft blocks and hangs in the air
