Looks like they hot fixed this issue today (YAY!) so you no longer need this. I'll be making it unlisted so people don't unnecessarily use it :)

thank goodness, was so annoyed by this glitch, cause ALL my connectors run off hinges lol

Patch notes from today (September 1) indicate they fixed the LG Hinge conveying

So I found another issue with the hinges. I was trying to make a ball turret and can no longer attach the tiny heads into the big hinge.

The speed with which you run out these kinds of vanilla fixes on release day always amazes me. :)

I was about to install this in my current world and realized that my hinges are working. So I tested pure vanilla with no mods on fresh creative and survival worlds and the hinges setup as pictured worked just fine for all kinds of items going both ways. I even tried a conveyor sorter and also tried script management (Isy's Inventory). I am curious as to the use case that you all are finding that they don't work. How do you all have them setup? Or did Keen sneakily push a hotfix?

Can i use this and go back to playing without it (after they fixed it hopefully very soon), without issues or is that gonna break my save?
My whole current save depends on hinges being able to transfer cargo so i basically cant play right now anymore
