Tips on becoming a faster Driver
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3034350023

Terminology:
RWD - Rear-wheel Drive. These cars require some experience/skill to shine. They have less understeer than AWD, more power, but the acceleration is way weaker so they're generally weaker on Circuits.
AWD - All-wheel Drive. The most used drivetrain. Races in Forza Horzion are very short and since these cars have the highest acceleration and are also the easiest to drive, they're the most used in Online Racing.
FWD - Front-wheel Drive. Characterized by a slow launch and low top end, but usually nice handling.
PowerBuild - A lot of power, very hard to control. It's basically RWD on steroids.
All-around - No particular specialization, it's decent everywhere, jack of all trades.
Meta Cars - ( most effective tactics available ) These cars abuse the Forza Horizon 5 'PI System' the most. Not only that but they're also inherently better than the vast majority. If you can't win Online Races in these cars, it's because your skill is really low.
M/C - Manual + Clutch.
TCR - Traction Control. It activates when it detects wheel spin, meaning you gave it too much gas.

Some of these cars require the clutch, manual works too but you will lose time, the lower the class the more important the clutch is. Preferably you'd use a controller, most cars work on Keyboard too, but for some you might need TCR ( TCR loses you a lot of time ). Some of them require DLC/Expansion, you will know which ones.
I will also provide some 'weaker options - Off Meta'.. meaning good, solid, capable cars but meta are better. In these cars is the driver that matters. Of course, below you'll find the cars + tunes for each. Check out the updates at the bottom if you care about what I've added, moved or removed, but yeah I think this is a pretty accurate snapshot of the current Meta in Forza Horizon 5.

Leave a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and do let me know what you think, if I forgot anything, If anything can be improved. Have a nice one :)

B ROAD/STREET

You will find plenty of Civics '74 in Online Races, simply because they're so easy to drive and so capable. However.. if a Holden Torana/Ford '32 is being driven by a skilled player, nothing will beat that. There are many, MANY 'weaker options', these are just a few of them, all tested and capable of W's. Prioritize RWD / PowerBuilds in Sprint Races, the difference in speed is going to more than make up for a few mistakes.

( RWD - PowerBuild ) 1977 Holden Torana A9X - Mostly Sprints ( Not beginner friendly, has insane potential ) 163 885 001 VNX CODCAOS

( RWD - PowerBuild ) 1932 Ford De Luxe Five-Window Coupe - Sprints ( Not beginner friendly, has insane potential ) 161 284 355 Danx986399

( AWD ) 2020 Ford SD F-450 DRW Platinum - Sprints & Circuits ( I didn't want to place it in Meta, but it's just too strong and it also has a big advantage, mass - nothing will move you. It's so easy to drive and so powerful ) 922 193 410 CORVETTE GS

B DIRT ( MIXED )

The International Scout takes the cake. Some cars+tunes here can be used in CC too, just don't expect the same results. Renault 4L might be a bit tricky to control, but nevertheless it has amazing potential and even some WR's.

( AWD ) 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R - Mostly for Circuits ( Fun little car ) 143 230 546 Awes0me Beau
B CROSS COUNTRY

All in all B-Class Cross Country is dominated by the 800A Scout. To be fair, there aren't many viable choices, most being too heavy or just plainly bad. There are some cars like the Sierra 700R which are very track dependent, they're more for rivals than Online Racing. You can use these on Dirt/Mixed too, in fact the '75 Bronco works quite well.

( AWD ) 1970 International Scout 800A - Sprints & Circuits ( King, Manageable & Fast ) 117 003 077 Cast Haste

( AWD ) 1975 Ford Bronco - Sprints & Circuits ( Easy to drive, beginner friendly ) 130 923 482 GOD T8T

( AWD ) 2020 Ford Super Duty F-450 DRW Platinum - Sprints & Circuits ( Good luck getting slowed down / rammed off in this ) 104 412 574 GreetedDust8

( AWD ) 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor - Mostly Sprints ( Better than the X-class, F-150 2017 and the Titan ) 169 908 795 NEP0SHA

Weaker Options - Off Meta:

( AWD ) 2021 Ford Bronco - Mostly Circuits, works in Sprints too ( beginner friendly, forgiving ) 473 555 509 GreetedDust8
A ROAD/STREET

Not gonna lie, A-Class Road/Street is a big class. Lots of cars to choose from, there are more competent AWD as well as RWD cars that can be added to this list. I can't add them all, I can't test them all, sorry. This might be the so called 'sweet spot' where there is plenty of fun to be had. Quite a few PowerBuilds here, I would like you to practice throttle control and stay away from TCR cuz it just becomes another RWD - you lose a lot of performance.

( RWD - PowerBuild ) 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Super Stock - Mostly Sprints ( Not beginner friendly, has insane potential ) 114 394 433 VNX CODCAOS

Weaker Options - Off Meta:

( RWD - PowerBuild ) 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM - Mostly Sprints, but works on Circuits too. ( Prolly one of the easiest PowerBuilds out there, even tho they're more for Sprints, this one can win Circuits too. ) 140 292 659 VNX CODCAOS

( AWD ) 1992 Ford Escort - Sprints & Circuits ( Really impressed with this one, good all around, very good power/weight ratio. Tbh I don't really wanna tell you about it, I wanna keep it secret xD ) 400 077 557 ElixFish

( RWD ) 1992 Honda NSX-R - Sprints & Circuits ( Easy to control RWD, beginner friendly, fun car ) 703 206 984 ESV Mars
A DIRT ( MIXED )

Surprised by this meta. No car here 'dominates', they're all very much capable, but nonetheless, you will find some 'weaker options'. Again, I have to mention that there are more capable cars out there, this is by no means a complete list.

S1 CROSS COUNTRY

What a nasty class this is, can you imagine when the game released it had S2 CC ? :O To be honest I would recommend staying away from this class like many, many do as it can cause frustration. Bone Shaker is king here on Circuits as well as Sprints.

Updates: Date & what I've changed below this line.
'Patch 1.6': September 22nd, 2023

Added 12 cars.

'Patch 1.5': September 8th, 2023

v1.5 !!! B Class Road/Street was lacking.. not anymore. I've also updated the International Scout 800A tunes in A Class and B Class. Added 10 Cars + Tunes. Moved Daytona to Off Meta.

'Patch 1.4': September 2nd, 2023\

Added 12 cars, removed X class from B CC Off meta.

'Patch 1.3': August 27th, 2023

So I think I haven't provided enough options for some classes / disciplines, hopefully this 'patch' ;P fixes that. Added 8 Cars.

'Patch 1.2': August 20th, 2023

Patch v1.2 is here xD Lots of top cars. I mainly wanted to include some of the new cars from the new manufacturers ( Alfa Romeo, Lancia ) and some from the new Italian Pack DLC we got. Of course I have others too and to be honest, the list is getting stronger and stronger. I have more cars to test so there will be a v1.3 patch for sure. Added 11 cars. Moved Land Rover to off meta, removed FXX-K since SCV12 is better.

'Patch 1.1': August 9th, 2023

Ladies 'n gentlemen, 'patch 1.1' has dropped xD I wanted mainly to bring more options, especially in the 'weaker options' category. You might think that his whole guide was easy to make, but actually there was quite a bit of testing to be done, benchmarks, quite a few cars and tunes to keep track of and I ended up forgetting about some of them, they're added in this 'patch' alongside new ones :) Many did not make it tho, I would need to make a new 'even weaker' category for them lol.. added 11 cars, removed some cars since they're for more for rivals.

Also, I've just tried the M3-GTR and Eclipse GSX, they behave really similarly to the NSX and Silvia. Easy wins all around

Great tunes, and as im reading the coments i see people don't like Mars' tunes.

IMO they're great, but not beginner friendly at all. The NSX and silvia (A class road) have weak front ends, and these cars need to be positioned slightly sideways in the corner entry and held like that until the exit. That's not easy to do, but these are good cars to learn these things.

The NSX is really stable after being put in that quick state, but to do that you need to go balls to the wall fast, while the silvia is really squirmy under acceleration and teaches throttle control a lot. And yes, in Mars' streams and videos you can see he's really fucking good at controlling cars like that, so to people who say these tunes suck, git gud.

All of these are great tunes, except for anything from ESV Mars. I have no idea how that guy is a top player, every single tune that i've tried for him was horrible, the cars would either not turn, were underpowered or the brake pressure was so low that i would just end up on the other size of the map while breaking.

Really, i don't know if he has a super awkward playing style or what, but when i try any other top tune or meta tune, i destroy everyone online, with any tune from ESV, i am lucky i am not among the 3 last players.

Making my own tunes based on YT SepiSP4 tuning guide has given me vastly superior results and then, some of the tunes in this guide as well.

You can find Mars here : https://www.twitch.tv/esv_mars/videos
Go watch his FH5 / FM videos and you'll see that you need to be reborn at least 5-6 times until you reach his driving/tuning level.
