First off, switch to Driller. This can be done by interacting with the character select menu in your room, wardrobe, pickaxe rack, equipment menu or the shop. The c4 satchel charge should appear in your inventory as the fourth item.

How do you explode the scout?

• The main tactic is catching the scout off-guard. When he's busy ressuplying, reviving, depositing, mining or doing the objective, it should be a nice moment for a peak DRG experience. Run up to the scout and throw the bundle at him, then quickly start spamming left click.
  
• You can also trap the scout by leaving the c4 in peculiar areas, such as the drop pod entrance, narrow passages, uplink or refueling station.
  
• Alternatively, if you've got the hang of it, just yeet explosives at scout during the swarm, while he's distracted by glyphids. You also have the option of downing the entire crew if you detonate the c4 the very seconds they exit the drop pod upon arrival.
